  1. Strap some weights to your "light weight" ski and see how it goes......... like a pinewood derby car!
  2. Graphics sell stuff. To the majority that don't know/care any better.
  3. I still believe, if you are willing to tweak slightly on atleast binding placement between different waters, you have the potential to ski oh so well! Just think what you may have left on the table.........
  4. Well, I am just a dumb skier with little to no engineering "science"....... BUT..... I ski on a river that is between 44 degrees F and 64 degrees F. Then ski tournaments on lakes that are 70 degrees to 80+ degrees F. I know that in order to have a working ski, I have to move my front binding ahead in COLDER water and back in WARMER water. Somewhat the same in shallow and deep water for that matter. I call it the cheap lawn chair test. If I fold like a cheap lawn chair on my off side, I have to move front binding back. I tend to use that as my "breaking point." On fin, I tend to find my sweet spot and use the bindings as my adjustment. However, I do add DFT as it gets really cold. Possibly even remove depth to free the ski up a hair, but that is only on a winter set on my river. We are in the upper 50's right now and I have not moved my fin yet, just ahead an 1/8th from the private warmer ski lakes.
  5. @Than_Bogan have you gone back to your old ski to try it after the Denali? Just curious what you feel as a difference? Know your climate is much like mine and the days are fading into winter........
  6. My buddy has it..... feels odd on bare feet. His seems to have hardened over time? Not sure it would be my first choice for flooring.
  7. ZO initial version only had A/B/C ............. then they added 1/2/3 ........... then they added + My best solution to ZO is to just SKI! I own a PP Star Gazer with ZBox boat. I ski about the same on it as in a tournament. If anything, I ski better behind the ZO boat in a tournament since it isn't punishing me cause the times are off after 1 ball! Pick a Letter and a Number and go SKI! If you don't like it, try a different letter. Repeat until you are happy. It is what it is, ZERO OFF or something like it are here to stay!
  8. Glad ghost slaloming is less of a temptation........
  9. I am 2.5 hours east of there....... I can't do it for free, but I could do it for a little bit....
  10. Most bindings set ups don't allow for small adjustments. Most are at least and 1/8 of an inch. Even Reflex set ups have that issue. They do make a micro adjust that allows for smaller adjustments with a slight modification. I think most people find that they wish they could be in between the 2 holes? I ended up dual locking my son's WILEY plates to a ski, just so we had greater adjust-ability. That sequence plate can be adjusted in 1/16 if you move the bindings on the plate as well.
  11. @ozski or?....... This world is full of possibilities! She is rocking, just imagine on a set up, or ski that was set up better........
  12. Anyone watching the Seahawks on TV tonight........ The weather was just as nice skiing this evening here in Central WA! Glass, warm, first time I can remember skiing in just an Eagle Vest and Swim Trunks on the Columbia River in October! Benefit of an extremely large body of water! Post your current weather/temps: Columbia River Water Temp: 63 Degrees Air Temp: 75 Degrees River level just right for ZERO Backwash/Rollers! Just perfect.............. for a public water site.
  13. @LeonL I was saying that I have watched SR Drivers float for extended minutes trying to figure out how to do most anything on the Nautique screen for 2015. It is not an issue for me. I spend enough time in a variety of boats that I can work my way through most set up/maps in a few clicks. I SECOND that the Mastercraft has the BEST interface for Zero Off in the business. And yes you can actually touch the screen!
  14. I would second all the comments on the throttle "feel". Especially for any club or owner that wanted a boat to teach beginners or even ski smaller children/people. I would also say, that the built in screen with ZO is not exactly user friendly. Find a Sr. Driver that knows his/her way around that interface! Especially if they are a little eye sight challenged, as the numbers/times/settings are so darn small and hidden in the "bling" of the newest lync look....... I might opt for the ZO gauge if I had a choice, depending on your use, or who was using it the most.
  15. Lots easier to have GOODE make you a new ski with the old "custom" graphics.......... Haven't used that one yet.
  16. Part of the adjustment is CERTAINLY WHAT IS BUILT BETWEEN THE EARS!
  17. My experience as a 6' 3" 190 lbs. Nano One felt like a lot of work. In it's defense I was on a 65.25 and it was just too small. Nano XT 66.00 was way less work and seemed to be faster cross course for me. Nano XT 66.75 was sweet for me through 35 off, but when the rope got shorter, it was likely holding me back a bit as I struggled to get the ski to come under me at 38' off Flex Tail 66.5 is my sweet spot. The smaller sizing, yet smidge wider sweet spot is fast and stable and comes under me and the line like nothing else! Least amount of work, probably due to my body position on this ski. It falls under me and sets me up. Key is to get the correct sizing and figure out which ski works best for you.
  18. I have my Flex Tail pretty well dialed at this point on fin settings. Ski feels the best for me out of anything I have ever skied on, but I do tweak bindings slightly at almost every tournament based on varying conditions. The 3 times I ran 38' OFF in tournament rounds this year, were times I moved my bindings a 1/16 to an 1/8 forward or back to adjust for what I was feeling on the water. I am getting better at knowing what is happening with the ski under my feet and beginning to feel confident that a small adjustment could be BETTER and allow the ski to work in my favor, which can equal running my hardest pass at any tournament! Love the feeling when an adjustment allows you to ski your best!
  19. SWEET! You've got a GREAT Start! That drill is a good one.
  20. Double what @A_B said. Marine starter/parts cost more, but they are necessary for the safety you want!
  21. When I worked in the motorcycle industry, the Suzuki Katana was nick named the "Can-a-tuna". You can only hope for better........
  22. @skialex Boxes I buy are two 5 yard rolls in 1 box........... MP3560 That does about 2 skis if you re-do binding plates as well. Little left over, but not enough for a 3rd ski. Not willing to pay $500+ for the 50 yard box. Here is the link to the product bnox I buy for around $80 on Amazon Prime: http://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Dual-Lock-Reclosable-Fastener-MP3560?N=5002385+8709314+8709324+8710676+8710815+8711017+8716423+3293194308&rt=rud
  23. If you are just adding dual lock to a ski, a box would go a long ways. On Amazon, it is around $80 for a box that can do probably 4 skis if you are just doing the ski and not a new binding plate every time. $20 a demo ski set up or so. Seems like you might be able to narrow your test fleet down a little with general knowledge of what you think you would like to ski on and what you know about your own skiing style and technique.
