  1. I think it is a lake in WASHINGTON STATE. Looks to me like a Lake Sammamish property. @Horton can you tell me more?
  2. You'd spend more time driving to your buddies place to get the solivent than it would take to do it with WD-40........ Super easy.
  3. @brewski has it right on with low heat gun and WD-40 to remove residue. Another trick is to use the heated sticker after the fact to "blot" over the top of some of the sticky residue, it may help pull some more off before using the WD-40. @Than_Bogan congrats on the new tractor!
  4. Without a little video it is hard to really say what the issue might be...... I would ask, as you shorten line, what do you think needs to happen at the gate? Meaning, do you turn in earlier or later as the line gets shorter?
  5. I did not have much success on the strada, although I liked it cross course, I felt it turned hard or was difficult to initiate. I wouldn't hesitate to try a QUEST, NANO ONE, just for fun. Maybe you will fall in love with the off side turn?
  6. I bet they could own this cherry mastercraft 205 for right around that $$$
  7. @34mph I would demo a few skis. One will feel like you have room to grow, and if they don't, just stick to your current equipment. If you haven't skied a GOODE for a month, you might not have gotten past the "how do I ski this thing" especial if it was a change from soft to hard shells........
  8. I was in your shoes just 3 years ago. I anti-ed up knowing I was hooked in this sport and demo tested a GOODE ski and Powershell 5 bindings, Also tested a Strada and an A2. I am now on my 3rd GOODE in 3 years, LOVING IT!!!!! And I Practice PB'ed 5 @ 38' OFF at 34.2 MPH yesterday!!!!!! Now, not to say new equipment will make everything happen, but I was on REALLY POOR EQUIPMENT...... (HO Phantom Truth and Animal Bindings, no speed control, and a 1987 no name inboard ski boat........). I changed my equipment, boat, speed control, and live on a puddle with a course. That all came together at once and I couldn't see myself going back to anything else. My 2 cents, demo a ski, nothing but some shipping lost. You could call Rick @ 1-888-GO-GOODE and see what might work for you if you like the results that 34 MPH skiers seem to have on these skis. You can always send it back if you don't like it, or you find that it doesn't create that "room for growth" that you are thinking it will. For me that was evident when I test rode one, it had room for me to grow.........
  9. @xrated there is a cure for gravity issues...... that is a 270 hp MCX kit..........
  10. Snowmobiling. Ride a 270 hp Turbo Yamaha Nytro in the North Cascades and Canadian Rockies. POWDER ROCKS!
  11. Been there, but never had the chance to ski. BEAUTIFUL LAKE! Similar to skiing down the Columbia River turn after turn after turn...........
  12. The Goodman's are GREAT-MEN! Terry is a heck of a ski coach!
  13. Probably a little longer than 12 hours, BUT I bet my friend would meet them in Montana area if they were truly interested. It is a 1996 SPOTLESS Mastercraft open bow Pro Start 205. It is mint, I mean it is even nicer than my boat and gets GREAT CARE! http://wenatchee.craigslist.org/boa/4045792874.html Price could be negociated I am sure. But it sounds like a good fit for them.
  14. In 2004 I bought a 1987 Dixie Super Skier 299 with 104 hours on it. GREAT FIRST BOAT. Did more to the trailer than the boat. Ran it for 5 years and sold it for $1500 more than I paid. Didn't put anything into it other than my own time and energy. In 2009 I bought a 2003 Nautique 196 LE with 27 hours on it. BEST SECOND BOAT I EVER BOUGHT! Only issue was a heater core for the accessory heat. Just sat with water/air in it and rotted it out! I would have ZERO issue buying a light use boat that was 7-10 years old. If you are able to do the little things on your own, it will be a low cost event. HOWEVER, if the guy that has it has trashed it in those 50 hours...... or didn't treat the fuel and it has sat for 5 years........ SO, do get the story. I knew the previous owner of my Nautique and had probably been in the boat for 15 of the 27 hours. So I knew the risk.
  15. From a tournament in central WA. Just love the faces people make as they ski (Myself included!) Looks like my eyes are closed. Thinking I ski better if I don't look anyways!
  16. I find I do my best work at a couple rope lengths longer than my practice average. Meaning, I have been getting around 4 ball @ 38' OFF relatively consistently, but find it best to work on my technique at 32' OFF. Just have a better chance of making the habit stick at this length. I have also taken to running down the rope to the fail point. Then dropping the speed 0.5 and take another crack at that hardest rope length for me. I have run it several times at a slower speed. Thinking, that is helping me figure out the gate and teaching me to carry more speed through my turn.
  17. @6balls I do believe it matters if you have the latest version of Stargazer and the ZBox. Also have to have them dialed in. Then I think you could close your eyes and "wonder" which system you were skiing, Might be an option if you can't jump to the ZO full time for practice.
  18. @6balls ........is it your boat set up with Startgazer AND ZBox? or someone elses? Just curious.
  19. Close your eyes, ski, and I guarantee you couldn't tell the difference between any 1997-2009 Nautique. They all ski so darn good. I think some drive a hair better than others especially after 2006 ish....... I have a 2003, but ski on a 97, 99, and a 2010 200 frequently as we rotate with friends. Just great slalom tractors!
  20. @OB I thought this was a public forum where we could all play nice in the sandbox, guess not....... too bag people have to read such unprofessional words on your post. Guess that is the Middle School teacher coming out in me........ I just figured if I should be running my 38's you ought to be able to get a few balls more on Stargazer too. On a side note, I am guessing you took the year off to figure out "your setting" on ZO. I figured mine out with the help of a good buddy @TeamWally , and yes, it took the best part of a YEAR! I then took my boat and dialed it in to ski as much as possible EXACTLY like my ZO C1 setting of the Nautique 200. I actually skied my hardest pass on ZO and then grabbed the handle of Stargazer and said "Not hard enough" lets set it harder. Lets make it as unforgiving in every aspect as possible. 2 boats in the water, pass me the handle, lets see how I can make mine ski like a ZO boat. I didn't just ski and look at the 16.95........ Just saying, I think you might be as wrong as you think I am........... but then again we may have to agree to disagree, but maybe you can edit your post so my students reading this on my computer at school won't have to read those derogatory terms???? Be a man, take back your words and act like a true gentleman.
  21. Much like a firearm....... it isn't the boat that makes my skiing suffer, but the driver! My ski set can just as easily be ruined by a knuckle-head in a 3 event boat. Point in case, I got home after work last night, only one other boat on a 55 mile stretch of river. Small I/O. He chose to do doughnuts right beside my course for the entire time we were out. I just had to time the passes to avoid the biggest rollers. I have no issue with the boat, I have issue with the driver.
  22. @Than_Bogan YES, to congratulate you on kicking BACKWASH BUTT!
