  1. I helped Andy put his gear back in his suburban at the 92 Masters. I was a 13 year old kid and he was my idol. I just asked him if I could give him a hand and he let me, and talked to me like I was just a regular old friend. I saw him a couple years ago when I was skiing with Jodi at Andy's lake. I was a 35 year old kid and he was my idol. The guy never knew my name, and it never stopped him from treating me like an old friend. I'm sad, and I'm praying
  2. I just sold my green Vapor because I didn't have it with me and used my old A1 and smoked it. I once heard a wise man say "Never sell your awesome ski until you're sure your new ski is awesomer". That A1 will never be for sale.
  3. I have both, a 93 NWZ and a 98 TSC1. There's nothing in the world "wrong" with the NWZ. It's a great boat. The TSC1 is simply better. For $10,500 though, buy a TSC1. I just saw one with 542 hours go for $9k.
  4. It will make an awesome boat, but I can't imagine that it will get anywhere close to getting your money back out of it. will still be more boat than 99% of the skiing world can ever out-ski. I'll take the old engine. I've got a 93 SN 196 NWZ that needs a full repower on the cheap. No meat on that bone if I start sinking dollars into it. Old engine is trash.
  5. As soon as I can ship myself home, I'll be wearing mine.
  6. @Wish not mine, but my dream TSC1 boat. For sale in NY for about 24k . Pretty high for me, considering the only reason I'd buy is because it's pretty. The best looking N I've ever seen. I love @6balls N boat. Gotta say it's my number 2. I'm just a sucker for a pretty blue boat. And I'd take the monkey bars off.
  7. @Andre that edge change would have been a face change for me
  8. Congrats to @FWinter. Really happy to see you dominating out there! Are you going to start teaching the "bum wake" method?
  9. Not just you. I'm trying to get info and order a V-Type R.
  10. Should the boat be considered the skiers "equipment"? The rules don't make everyone ski on the same ski. That would be interesting to see, not even a possibility, but interesting. The truth is, there would be no point in a boat company sponsoring an event, if half or more was pulled by competitors boats. Back to the point of the discussion, Nate will knock down 3 this October or November.
  11. @klindy, that's actually exactly what I meant. It's a business and the best way to promote "their" product is to win(set a record) behind it. These guys have to ski behind the boat pulling the competition, theirs or otherwise, and choosing not to shoot for a record is a decision that makes perfect business sense. It just sucks for them, to lose that opportunity to go after it, and for spectators watching. I should have said "it's the nature of the business" I suppose.
  12. Well, the handle had his name on it @ntx, kinda cheating. Jk Is there anywhere to get Ski/company info?
  13. @Stevie Boy I didn't want to "like" your comment, but it's true. At the Malibu Cup, day 1, Nate ran 41 in fantastic conditions. Everyone started talking. "He won't try for it behind a Malibu". People were saying CP might try, as long as Chad is driving. Kinda sucks, but I get it. No matter the level, there's a game to be played. I think CP wants his record back so bad he'd do it behind a disaster raft.
  14. My 98 in the foreground and @art90notch 99 SN 196 TSC index the background
  15. The sport is reaching it's performance limitation. I think that is freaking awesome! There is a limit, like @Than_Bogan says, we aren't at it quite yet, but we're closing. I agree that it's most likely Nate, CP, or Asher, because the guys consistently get more looks at it. It's going to end up taking perfection, or just enough of it. No one has it, and definitely not consistently, so even when it falls, no one is likely to be knocking it right back down. The margin is going down by .25 and .5, not 1 or 2 balls. I like the -42 thought but it does nothing for the group at 3 @ -41. We'd be better off with a -40 loop to stretch that group out. When we get a pile-up at -43 in a tournament, I really just hope I'm there.
  16. @Horton if it's anything like the V-Type (I'm about to buy) I'm certain it's something special. I was just very curious about what design features created the "elliptical rocker" description. I've been on everything from the Syndicate team since the A1, and they've not let me down yet. Kinda been kicking myself for trying something different
  17. Boat is in the garage, trailer is locked to the truck, .45 is in the truck
  18. What do you mean @thager? You and I should release a new ski using elliptical rocker, infinite bevel, and 45 degree bi directional torsional flex. And a tail that wiggles? Seriously, there's some good stuff coming out now, I just have no idea what they're talking about here. Rocker, as I understand it, is lengthwise curvature, or possibly the degree of curvature in an arc. Elliptical? Are we saying half an ellipsis? Does that mean symmetrical rocker, lengthwise? I'm lost..
  19. What is Elliptical Rocker? I'm having trouble conceptualizing.
  20. Had to make one Regina would be willing to part with her N1 (xt) for ;)
  21. @art90notch just picked up a 99 SN 196 with a sun bleached (or whatever you term it) single line gauge. Any ballers upgrade and have their old gauge left over?
  22. So, I could pull my 225 hour GT40, drop it in my 93 SN and sell it. Then, get an engine and ZO in the bubble butt. I'm becoming a bigger fan of that idea, the more I read these threads. Skiing behind and driving a 2014 Prostar with a 343, it feels like it has no balls, compared to the GT40. @liquid d and @Bruce_Butterfield , what engine did you guys go with and what has been your experience with it over the previous engine?
  23. Ask this dude, he seems to be fairly certain there is a difference. Maybe there is a difference in bracket length? As several have stated there is no difference in main housing and internals. Would be worth knowing anyway. I'm thinking he tried a short plate but uses size 12+ boots and thinks the 500 & 750 are incompatible. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Bindings&postid=33230
  24. Bad ground? If you've checked voltage, that's where I'd go, at least before I throw an alternator at it. I run a 98 196 too, and my stereo guy told me last week that a lot of our Nautiques share grounds. May need real Nautique guy input, but the issue I was having was very clearly explained by what he said.
