  1. I’m watching this thread. If it’s as good as the R2, it’s a no-brainer over the Evo. If it’s better....
  2. @jpattigr those racks seem to be rare birds.my ski partner has them in his 08. They’re the only ones I’ve seen in the wild. 😎. I’d love to find a set for my boat, as we don’t really use our starting dock, usually because it’s just 3 of us on the lake at any given time. I may have to ask @mmosley899to make me a set as well.
  3. skidim has them cheaper than a local marine exhaust place where I live. Their customer service is great too
  4. I’d like to meet his driver
  5. If your wife gets mad during tax season about that $1,000 that came out of your account in November for a ski she never knew about...
  6. We get buoys cut constantly on our public water course so cheap is the way we go. Overtons or polyform or whatever we find cheap. They aren’t going to last out there anyway. Foam bullet buoys for boat guides. You wouldn’t believe the prop cuts we find in those things. But hey, they’re still floating.
  7. That TXI in California looks like a great deal and is beautiful. I like skiing behind the Malibu a lot, but at 34. I like the function of the electronics, the interior, and the space. It really is a great boat. Just not a lower speed slalom boat. I miss my 14 Prostar for teaching kids to ski the course. They weren’t afraid to charge at the wakes at 19mph
  8. Just my thought but completing the pass should always beat a NC
  9. Also, I have never noticed it myself but the older women skiers at our tournaments hate the Malibu wakes. I can only assume that at speeds lower than 34 the wake gets bad. I don’t know where “the bad” starts. Is it at 30mph, 28mph? I can’t answer that one but maybe someone here can
  10. The Mastercraft has the best slalom wake in waterskiing right now. Aside from that, not much. Mastercraft made their major price jump right after Nautique did for their new abomination. once the wakesurf fad wears off, maybe the ugly barge business will drop off and the manufacturers will give a damn about the market that created them
  11. @Dragomy bad wording. I knew what you meant, but the 0@41 beating 6@39 made too much sense to not be the rule. Stupid rule. @Bruce_Butterfieldwould B have to turn back in? Or would a 1/4 buoy be scored? When is a 1/4 buoy recognized? I’ve got nothing but questions that just show that I’m obviously not familiar with the rule book. Laziness or ignorance on my part, but thank you guys for answering anyway.
  12. Is @Drago not correct, that 0@41 still wins?
  13. I got the comp series for my little ski day “event” I did last weekend. I love it. The quality is top notch. Even came with the stretch testing results, all within very close to exact test numbers all well within tolerance. Great product and I’ll buy again. I sent the link and my ski partner just ordered one for himself.
  14. Yeah, I’m about an hour east of where it all was stolen. I’ve been stalking FB marketplace for any of it to show up.
  15. I ran across an early 2000’s Response sitting in a neighborhood in my town the other day. I’m curious about them from previous owners/drivers/skiers perspective. Pluses/minuses. I’m not getting rid of my 196, but maybe this would make a good river ski boat to live in our boathouse at home. Thoughts good/bad/ugly?
  16. Last one, I promise. I forgot to post Virginia riding trick and the only other one of her skiing shows up only as a black square. Here ya go
  17. Can’t say how many times I’ve watched it but every time it pops up, I watch it again
  18. Great weekend with a handful of Auburn skiers and a few kids.
  19. Thinking more since actually writing it down, it may not really translate without being able to see your own path with those same points
  20. I was thinking about this today. I’d like to see some diagram from overhead of Freddie, Nate, or Will with points of reference like handle release, Edge change, maybe end of turn. I think showing where pull out for the gate starts and turn in too. I wonder if it would be enlightening to many of us not skiing much past -32. I just remember hearing the story of the lake with a ton of lily pad growth where the line the normal skiers was cut through, then Andy skied it and the path was totally different, way earlier line to every buoy.
  21. The 2002 196. I own one. Even after owning a 2014 Prostar (which I wish I still had) that 02 is still the best boat I’ve ever owned. As for Nautiques, I’ve owned a 93, 95, 97, 98, 01, and the 02. Nothing “wrong” with the 94-96 but the 97 and up 196’s were just so much better. Beginner wakeboard stuff is fine behind one, and you could weight the hell out of it (I’ve seen a local idiot do it) and the wake could be brought up, but it doesn’t sound like that’s your thing. Get the current Perfect Pass. It’s definitely worth it. I upgraded mine to Zero Off, but it’s totally unnecessary for your purposes. Perfect Pass makes driving skiers on open water easy, and even cruising much more enjoyable.
