  1. Yes, Perrysburg looks like almost a good 2 hour hike from South West FW.
  2. @GK great, maybe I can plan a trip around the same time as one of the events. In the spring I'll check the website for dates. @A_B they are in Fort Wayne. We drive through Van Wert on our way back to Richmond, VA. I take the exit ramp that is right next to the lake.
  3. I just found a link on SIA to the Buckeye Buoy Tour (last season). My in-laws are 35-40 minutes from Van Wert. Will you guys include grassroots or Fun class at your tournaments next year?
  4. One question I have been wondering about. Would a newbie to the course even feel the difference in carbon vs non-carbon at 28-30mph? A newbie normally really does not get the ski on edge much. Also, they do not have as much of the front of the ski in the water in a turn. Someday I want to demo the same ski in a carbon & non-carbon version.
  5. Also, thanks Horton for the V review from a few years back. It was good to read it again.
  6. @Connelly_Skis_Inc‌ Thank you for making the V in two different layups. That gives guys that want to give the course a try an option to get a great ski without getting up in the $600-$800 range. @Horton‌ @TallSkinnyGuy‌ thanks.
  7. I have been reading up on the V. It looks like a great fit for my friend. The V is wider under foot right? Question 1. Extra width = good for deep water starts? This guy is in early 60’s uses double boots and does not like too many deep water starts (I know an RTP is quicker to get up). The Carbon V is said to be a stiff stick. Question 2. Is the Carbon V less forgiving than the V? Question 2 is in reference to learning the course. I know 15 offers don’t need carbon skis but I have seen some deals. 67” @ 168 lb, 6’ 0”, 32mph – 34mph freeskiing most of the time, 30mph @ -15 trying to learn the course. I know the best way to select a ski is always to demo but it's the off season and we have all winter to hypothesize about skis.
  8. @Horton‌ Baller coins are not cash so, you could pay with them right?
  9. @Horton Is that the new Google GPS transponder paint? It goes on the top of the ski!
  10. My dad has a 70's O'Brien Mach i, and I have a '07 HO Mach i. Neither one of us have a Ford Mach i but he is a die-hard Ford guy. Does that count? @skibrain did you have to add extra springs to the back of your Malibu to pull your Malibu?
  11. +1 Great video. I love the mini boat! @MISkier‌ I was thinking the same thing.
  12. Mr. Avaiusini, Thank you for the update.
  13. @Wish‌ thanks. The twitter comment (Nate 2 @ 41) was bad info?? Sounds like with that much wind no one was getting close to -38/-39/-41 in round 1.
  14. I saw that about the wind and Detrick opting up. Maybe round 2 & 3 will be Sunday?
  15. Scores? I checked the twitter feed on the home page and Nate 2 @ 41. What about the rest of the pack?
  16. @Edbrazil‌ I thought last winter Gordon Rathbun advertized he was going to have a Left Hand slalom tournament?? Then I never saw any update of who won or any scores. http://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/10052/mapple-pro-am-challenge
  17. Timberlake ski club has done a fun team event. Three skiers per team with handicap. Highest combined ball count advances to finals. I love the idea of having any event with a handicap. Everyone is skiing against their average. I hope they do this again soon. I was on vacation the last 2 times they ran this.
  18. It is great HO is spending so much time, research, testing and marketing to the cross-over skiers. I think the Superlite TX is going to winner for many weekend warrior / hit the course once in a while kind of guy. Most of us cross-over skiers don't need more carbon (lighter/stiffer) but we still want to have the best ski for the level we are at.
  19. I agree if the 65s aren't selling I don't expect HO to keep making them. You are correct they have a lot of skis to choose from. The standard 65" CX would take me as far as my current skiing ability's can go. I don't need a new ski but, I thought it was interesting that the superlite 65 was dropped from 2015 lineup.
  20. Must not be enough of us 34mph beanpoles that want a carbon ski. Maybe I missed the memo, but just noticed that HO is not making a 65" Superlite CX or TX.
  21. like $50-$75 cheaper per boot. Got my 14's from Miami Nautique with free shipping.
  22. @SkiNGurl‌ did you already have the easy up handle or did you just get 1? It should keep the ski from falling over to the side.
  23. +1 for the "easy-up" deep V handle. Best $50 bucks you could spend to teach anyone to ski.
  24. @LeonL‌ thanks. that is what he was telling me. take the online class then a rated driver would give me a driving test.
