  1. I have a brand new 2014 65" D3 Quest demo ski that never made it out of it's sealed box - if you are interested text me: 469-525-5028
  2. @Milford I for one hope you continue to develop your idea. I think a lit up course would be something special. The lake I live on is gumbo like clay and very murky, but I would still love to test it out.
  3. I don't have 20K @E_T, but I would love to see what you come up with. We have four lakes and I know that we would do at least 3 if there were glow in the dark buoys to illuminate the coures.
  4. NAUTIQUE ANNOUNCES THE RETURN OF THE U.S. OPEN OF WATER SKIING ORLANDO, FL (September 5, 2014) – Nautique and CBS have partnered with USA Water Ski and officially announce a three-year partnership naming Nautique Boat Company as the title sponsor of the U.S. Open of Water Skiing. Re-igniting the future of one of water skiing's most coveted titles, Nautique and CBS aim to engage the water ski community back to its roots, and deliver an all-inclusive, world-class, three-event water ski competition and cultural festival. The 21st Nautique U.S. Open of Water Skiing will be headlined by the world’s best men and women three-event athletes, including current World Record holders and Team Nautique athletes Nate Smith and Erika Lang. This event will be held at Lake Ivanhoe attracting thousands of spectators, and showcase a 10-acre retail and brand experience. The Nautique U.S. Open spectators will enjoy an interactive festival featuring exhibitors, autograph signings, DJs, and prize giveaways. “This is a big moment for Nautique and the Nautique U.S. Open of Water Skiing. The U.S. Open has been sidelined for the past seven years and we are excited to bring it back!” stated Bill Yeargin, President/CEO of Nautique Boat Company. “Adding more excitement, the winners of each discipline will receive an invitation to the world’s most prestigious watersports event, the 2015 Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament, held at Callaway Gardens over the Memorial Day Weekend” added Yeargin. “Nautique and USA Water Ski have been partners for decades. Being able to add to this relationship with such an iconic event in our own backyard is simply a perfect fit,” commented Bob Crowley, USA Water Skis’ Executive Director. “We are really looking forward to embracing the entire water ski industry with the Nautique U.S. Open. This will offer us one of the most powerful events to share our spirit of water skiing with thousands of people,” added Crowley. The Nautique U.S. Open of Water Skiing will be the fall’s biggest watersports event/festival as the finals return to the “Watersports Capital of the World” Orlando, FL on October 25th. The live webcast and consumer information will be available at http://www.nautique.com/events/view/nautique-u-s-open-of-water-skiing.
  5. When I look out at the lake just at dusk and see how the wind has calmed down nearly every night, I have to ask myself - has anyone else dreamed of a solar powered illuminated slalom buoys? I know that there is the Big Dawg under the lights - and I know that Goode sold their flashlight driven Power Buoy for a year or so. (although I don't think they sell them anymore). But all of that is a major ordeal. I just want something with a seamless photo-sensor that lights up each night like the little solar powered lights sold at the dollar store that are found in flowerbeds. From my understanding - all the major buoy manufactures use a molded injection process that is far to hot for a solid state electronic components to survive. I don't know about everyone else, but I would be willing to kick out a premium for my course to light up each night. We have had nights we use clear duct tape to adhere glow-sticks to buoys with correct color to match guide balls and turn balls. Its a pretty big hit, but we never go so far as tried to hold a tournament. Is it possible that something could ever come about in the foreseeable future?
  6. It may or not have been posted, but lots of folks have talked about guys using enhancement drugs. At least where I ski - people have many suspicions that the big dawg is full of the stuff. Glad to see your not Dave, (even though I have no clue how to read what you posted)
  7. Berkeley Aquatic Park is awesome. You are just spoiled with Princeton Lakes @disland.
  8. @Horton - That is exactly what the owners of my 2014 200 SN did. They told me what they wanted - color, 6 liter, sub-woofer etc and put down a deposit. There was an added bonus to the deal. They skied with me all summer in the boat and take delivery at the end of Sep.
  9. The 59 inch Jr. allegance is what I got for my son when he was getting up easy and started getting into the course. I still have it in the attic for his younger siblings still coming up the pipe. Here is one for sale though. I would stay away from the bindings listed and stick with Wiley's for a child that young. http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=29548
  10. No offense intended, but I don't get all of the hubbub. Maybe next year - lets give the open men a shot at the night finals- not mid day Tuesday. They deserve our attention even more as there abilities are the paramount of the sport. I realize big dawg scores are about 20 buoys higher than mine and deserve respect, but come on - at the end of the day the pros aren't skiing skirt speed. They are at a completely different level and we should celebrate them.
  11. I have many times said over the years - boat companies should realize that since they have such expensive products, people are forced to partner in on boats. Since some already have touch screens and key pads - they should have a methods like individual passwords on keypads to keep track of boat usage. It's a very simple solution for club boats and multi owners. So if your reading any of this - (big 4 manufactures ) please equip this on next years boat. It will help us avoid Freddie the freeloader.
  12. When my kids started to shorten the rope, I knew it was time to release and turn with a single hand. It is a hard concept to get right off but they do naturally progress. What we did was line up a few buoys in the yard and walked them through it. They didn't like it at first because they couldn't ski as well, but after about a week, they were getting new PB's. Good luck.
  13. Hey @shaneH, I heard about the MC fuel gauge problem. However, I also heard that there is something going on in most brand boats this year from something the EPA has required not just MC. Anyone know if that is the truth? Luckily my 14 Nautique hasn't and works well this year, but I could not get last year's fuel gauge to read full no mater if I completely topped it off.
  14. Curious if this would also cover the main intake to cool the boat or would this just protect ballast bag systems. I don't have any ballast on my boat, but it sure gets my attention as a (non centurion) promo guy going from lake to lake.
  15. Use caution. There are plenty of advantages to hard-shell boots like reflex, but please make sure that you child is over 100 lbs as it would be a shame if your child was caused injury from not releasing - causing even worse injury.
  16. I love the quest. I ran this setting on my 2013 68 with a lot of personal success 2.505 6.93 .75 (flat) Wing @ 8 Binding @ 30.5 “ (also try just a bit back) Good luck
  17. Thanks guys. I live where all 4 lakes all run east/west and ski evenings otherwise known as glare:thirty. Just bought myself a couple of floating polarized Bombers and a couple of pairs for my kids too. Price is cheap enough to be guilt free if they get lost in a yard sale.
  18. 2nd for wallyskier.com
  19. Great video. @kfennell Can you get me an octocopter (sounds like Octomom) complete with camera to shoot and monitor with transmitter and case to store for 2500? If so I might change my mind on the B&H phantom ready to fly solution for 2200.
  20. Dragged the tournament starting dock down the lake. That thing won't turn on my on side or off side.
  21. My wife took my two little ones to Cory's while I had to stay back in TX for work - and yea Daniel Odvarko's coaching helped them out quite a bit with only 2 sets. It gets my two thumbs up.
  22. Okay I want one of these so bad I can taste it. I am also looking at B&H at one of their DJI ready to fly kits. I have done some homework on these copters and I can tell you a few things... First if you buy the Phantom 2 vs the original Phantom, it gives you 2x battery life (22 min vs 10). Aslo you need to know that you have to have a Hero 3 Gopro. The original Gopro won't fit. Second I have looked at different video footage and if you don't get a gimbal with the phantom you get vibrating video and you can't tilt the cameral down to get the shots right under the copter. The gimbal will also get rid of the vibration that they call the jello effect. Third you want to buy the prop guards & just to be safe you should think about a protective lense for your Gopro camera as you can't use the clear protective case that comes standard with the Gopro.
  23. BOS Boat testing. I second that. Oh but wait - didn't Horton get a new Carbon Pro? Not sure you could get a real unbiased opinion. Even though I - just like most of you know that the Boat Buyer's Guide pretty much all pros and no cons... I still like going through it.
