    Making 39 Look Easy

This year's Calgary Pro Shoot out has been sporting some monstrous scores from the elite men's division. Of 23 pro men skiers, 15 took down 39 %C2%BD off in the first round, the most ever posted in a pro event. Over all four rounds, there were 39 total scores into 41 off, two of which were also into 43 off.
Nate Smith, Nick Parsons and Will Asher were the top skiers to qualify for the three person shootout. Smith dominated the event with a massive score of 2@43, a new course record, while Nick Parson and Will Asher followed up with a tied score of 2 @ 41.

Fresh off offering water skiing’s first and only completely customized graphics, GOODE Skis is providing even more ways to customize your skiing with three new additions to the world-record breaking XT lineup: the Nano XTT™, Nano XTM™ and Nano XTW™.  Check out the entire XT lineup at store.goode.com.
The three new skis compliment GOODE’s flagship Nano OneXT™ by catering to skiers who prefer either narrower (traditional) or wider skis.  See which model is best for you with this ski comparison chart.
“The Nano OneXT has been one of the most well-received skis we’ve ever had,” said Dave Goode, founder and president of GOODE Skis. “But while the XT is going to be the right ski for probably 80 percent of skiers, there is still that 20 percent that likes the narrower or wider skis that we’ve been very successful with before. We are taking the best characteristics of the XT and adding them to these new widths so that no matter your preference, there is a world-class GOODE for you.”
The differences in the new skis are primarily the width, with the second “T” in XTT standing for “traditional” width (narrower than the XT), and the “M” and “W” in XTM and XTW standing for “mid” and “wide” (wider than the XT), respectively. While the new skis have a width and shape unique for each model, all feature the ground-breaking AsymRocker™, an asymmetrical rocker technology that first debuted with the Nano OneXT. AsymRocker creates a longer rocker on the offside, and a shorter rocker on the onside, completely eliminating any differences between on- and off-sides and leading to better, smoother and more consistent turns that build angle and add buoys.

    The Nano XTT
The Nano XTT combines all the hard-charging, cross-course speed of the traditional-width 9900 series with the on-the-rails, no off-side-at-all turns pioneered by the Nano OneXT’s AsymRocker.
Designed with skiers who like to be more proactive in their turns in mind, many 36 mph skiers are going to find the Nano XTT more suitable to the sport’s top speed. Just ask Chris Parrish who is quickly returning to world-record form on his new Nano XTT.
    The Nano XTM
The Nano XTM is the next generation of the ever popular Mid-Ride. The perfect combination of the performance-proven mid width and the XT’s rocker profile, the all-new Nano XTM is designed for skiers who like the ski to sit a little higher in the water, and the easier, more efficient ride that comes along with it.
The Nano XTM employs smaller bevels that, when combined with the asymmetrical rocker and extra width, require less skier input to create automatic, angle-building turns.
If you liked the 9900 series mid rides and the Nano Twist, you’ll love the Nano XTM.
    The Nano XTW
The Nano XTW takes all of the characteristics of the Nano XTM and makes them, well, bigger.
For skiers who like the ski to ride even higher on the water, the Nano XTW is a medium speed ski that creates monster angle off the buoys with minimal skier input. And the Nano XTW’s extra width makes it the easiest ski to get up on in the entire XT lineup, sparing your back and saving energy for where it really counts: in the course.
XT, XTT, XTM and XTW: What is the right ski for you?
Take a look at this handy ski model comparison chart to figure out which XT series ski is best for you. And don’t forget, you can make each model in the XT lineup look any way you want with GOODE’s 100-percent customizable graphics. Any design, any color. The only limit is your own imagination.

Some talk has been circulating recently about Will Asher moving from his home in Orlando to Canada. Asher has confirmed that this rumor is false.
"My wife is Canadian," Asher said. "We spend some time up there in the summer but I officially still live in the swamp."

Nate Smith was forced to take a leave of absence in his record breaking career after suffering a tibia plateau fracture in his left knee from hyper-extension in the beginning of the summer season. The injury relegated him to the sidelines for 13 weeks.
Despite missing a large portion of the season, Smith says he feels the time off was advantageous.
"I think the time off was a good thing," Smith said. "With our seasons being so long, we rarely get time off to relax and rest."
The resting period paid off. Shortly after returning to the water, Smith broke the Mid-West slalom record with 1 buoy at 43 off and recently ran yet another 41 off at this year's Malibu Open.
Back at the top of his game, Smith has deep 43 off in his sights. However, a new world record is not his primary focus. Instead, Smith is simply concentrating on spending more time back on the water.
"World records are great, but my main focus is on being consistent and winning pro events right now."

We have a total %247,000 purse, divided with %243,000 to Open Men top three places, %243,000 Open Women top three places and %241,000 Pro Am team (only first place team wins cash). Mystic Waters is a unique ski site. In the mountains of North Carolina, it has a huge slanted lawn and shaded areas for excellent viewing of the lake. It is a former Girl Scout Camp, so it includes infrastructure, including a Pavilion overlooking the lake, an air-conditioned retreat center for skiers and sponsors, bathrooms and the cabins, plus beautiful mountain hiking trails. The Health, Wellness and Art fair will include massage therapy, laser treatments, chiropractic adjustments and acupuncture on-site, live music, a variety of sponsors and some fabulous local art. We will also have demonstrations by the A-Lure/Dirty Dancing Dancers, the Lake Lure Cloggers, a professional fly fisherman and tai chi. While in a secluded area, Mystic Waters is behind a full grocery store and minutes from restaurants, local shopping and Lake Lure, a 750 acre lake. For more on the event, check out the Facebook page:

Our goal is to have roughly half Pros and half amateurs to make this a fun event that hooks more skiers on the sport, and exposes water skiing to a large crowd.
The lake will be open for practice on Friday and we will have a Funday on Sunday, with several pros already agreeing to stay and give lessons to those who sign up on Saturday.
We have a couple of more slots to fill. If you are interested in signing up, please contact Lynn Carnes at lcarnes@carnesassociates.com.
Whether as a skier or a spectator, we really hope you can make it!

The Event which was held at Twin Oaks Lake in Paducah Kentucky July 18-21,was title sponsored by Eagle Sports.  Other sponsors included The Paducah Board of Tourism, Malibu Boats, Centurion Boats, Four Rivers Harley Davidson, and D3 Skis.  The innovative tourmament featured two first events, a head to head slalom which pitted the best 34 mph men vs. pro women and a 36 mph head to head for non pro men.
midnight. In the semifinal, Regina Jaquess defeated an injured Eric Kelley.  Chad Scott defeated Kyle Jones.  The final resulted in a man vs. woman slug out.  Both skiers made their 6 th. 38 off of the day and the lines were shortened to 39.5 off.  Jaquess was the top seed and decided to send Scott out first.  Scott got a decent gate and came several inches away from the 4 ball, scoring 3.  Jaquess came into the gate knowing that she would have to get around 4.  She battled to 4 ball and managed to squeak her ski outside of the buoy scoring 3.5 buoys for the 3000 dollar win.

The event also featured skiers being able to practice under the lights on Friday which was a big fun ski party that went on to about 1 a.m.  Also a class c slalom was held on Sunday.
