Baller lkb Posted June 28, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 28, 2010 Mr and Mrs MS made the the long journey from Minnesota to Alabama Friday for my 6 round Class C. It was an awesome weekend of friends and skiing. Despite a tender back MS rode the strada into 39 in practice and in competition. Mrs MS gave it a valiant effort as well. With a little confidence and some more hip/handle proximity control, I have no doubt she'll be running 15/34 in every tourney! Thanks to you'll for your help and good times. I also thank my club members for their work and Scooter Rambo for making sure we had a promo boat at our disposal. He sent a sweet Mastercraft 197 down for us to use on both days. I'd love to have any other BOS'ers come by and test the waters. So if you ever get a hankerin' to come 'Bama let me know. Area 41 won't dissappoint. Old MS Accout
You all need to get to Area 41. LKB puts on a great tourney. The water is awesome. Good skiing, good time and a very well run event. I never got to try Orka but the gator under the dock is awesome.
Baller thager Posted June 29, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 29, 2010 I've never tried Killer whale either but a gator under the dock is better than a cottonmouth on my arm. MS, You really need to get a spell checker!
Old MS Accout
I have no idea how to spel orkea. I dont even know what it looks like.
Baller lkb Posted June 30, 2010 Author Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 It's only a 4 letter word. Ocra....I will eventually educate MS in the ways of Southern culture but the spelling problem may be hopeless.
Baller thager Posted June 30, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 Save yourself the effort. Just can't be done. It would be easier to teach me to ski shortline!
Baller lkb Posted June 30, 2010 Author Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 I'll try that too. Heck maybe we can learn together since I could barely run 32 in my own backyard tourney.

Baller lkb Posted June 30, 2010 Author Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 Oops he won't come back at me though. I have blackmail on him. Jim Neely, where is Irmo? I may want to go to that.
Baller thager Posted June 30, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 IKB, I know what you're feeling. I couldn't get through -28 my first two rounds this weekend and then missed my final opener at -22. Lake had a lot of dye in it and felt to me like I was skiing in mud!! I couldn't get my hips up to accelerate to save my life. I ran into -35 when I got home. Lot to be said for tuning your ski to each lakes water characteristics. Anyone know why it's easier to ski in southern water than northern for the same temp?
Baller lkb Posted June 30, 2010 Author Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 Cut up a truckload of okra and dump it in the lake. It will make the water feel southern. Hehehe
Baller thager Posted June 30, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 Up here we'd just use balls of algae!

Baller lkb Posted June 30, 2010 Author Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 Shiner is easier to spell but you get a pass on yeungling...ate some fried okra while ago...it was so good it would make you slap ya grandma...you'll missed the beginning of okra season by only a few days
Baller thager Posted June 30, 2010 Baller Share Posted June 30, 2010 MS, Just boil some swamp water with lake weed. Smells and tastes the same. My Navy roomies tried to sell me on it once.
