Question for Strada owners

I am trying to find a ski that fits my wife's style. Her tournament average is 1 or 2 at 35 off. She is a very upright and strong skier and tends to ski farther back on her ski. Her hips are forward and her shoulders back pretty much all the time. She has some difficulty getting on the front of the ski but counters really well. She is skis faster than she should.

It seems like the Strada is a ski that works well by staying on the back. I have seen countless skiers run great passes with the water barely breaking forward of their front binding and/or the ski just being very far out of the water the whole time. I have always noticed this about the ski but have never tried it. I was thinking this may work well with my wife's style.

Any thoughts

Got a new 2011 65" Strada for sale at a great price. Skier tried both sizes and went with a 66". Can have Horton sign this weekend at Cottonwood so it's just like MS's ski if you like. Anyone interested?

last spring i went from a 67 D3 RC to a 66 strada. Not sure if it was ski size or ski but i did go out the front once or twice the first time on it. Had a great season on the 66 last year and set new PB's all summer. Decided to try a 67 strada this year. I am 175lbs 34mph skier working on mastering -32. I am having an amazing spring and skiing out of my mind on the 67. I feel like i can get up front in the turn and the ski does not stop like the 66 would!!! This is only my 5th season skiing a course and i managed to get 3.5 at -35 with a slow boat about 33.7mph two weeks ago with PP got 1 @-35 full speed behind ZO on wednesday. Plenty of peeps out there are killing it on the strada i would not hesitate to get your wife on the ski regardless of her position on a ski. My 66 is for sale on ski-it-again.com just posted yesterday.

I've been on the Strada for almost a year (started with 66" and ended up with 65"). I'm 160# and 5'10". I don't think you can go wrong with it.

It's the most forgiving ski I've been on and it's very fast behind the boat. I haven't been OTF on it and i have a tendency to get alittle too forward on my off-side sometimes.

Nicest feature for me is the way it carries speed through the finish of the turn. It's allowed me to maintain a better body position in the turns.

Highly recommend.

Richard, thanks I will take you up on that. We will be at Warman Lake this weekend, are you going to be there? I will gladly pay the freight to give it a try. She is on Goode powershells, but I also have her old FMs, we could put on a ski to try it out.

Mad11, I will send you an email, thanks.

Well she liked it enough to go ahead and ride it for a tournament this weekend. Pretty windy yesterday and no great scores. Nice today, she is walking down to the starting dock to give it a go again. She looks really good on it. Turns nice.

Yea, she likes it, gonna keep it. Slower than the Goode but she looks more controlled and turns a bit better. I think for her style its gonna work good. She met her tournament average (in a tournament) after just a few days on the ski. Time for a change and this is the ski.
