Goode 9800 Versus Goode 9900

The 9900 seemed to be the people's choice of the two.

I think the 9800 was thinner, or seemed to break down more from things that I have read out here on the web. The 9800 did come with a thinner fin, supposedly to help it go faster. I have used it on a few other skis and don't think it does much, except, I don't think it turns as well for me.

In a rare marketing move, Goode was discounting the 9800 quite a bit earlier this season. If it was a hot ski, I doubt it would have been discounted.

IMHO

9700- fast

9800- slow but more stable, breakable

9800sl- asymmetrical (good thing), not so slow, stable, not heard of as much breaking

9900sl- improved speed over 9800sl. I don't think by a whole lot, but better

I noticed that Goode was offering the 9800 for a song and I've seen some 9900's that were going for pretty cheap too. I love my Elite, but at some of these prices it couldn't hurt to try the 9900. However, I vowed to buy my next ski from H2Osmosis - support the sport and all that. Maybe I'll try the 9900 at a deeply discounted price and if I really like it, I can buy a Nano from Tad & Seth. Or maybe I'll remodel our bathroom and my wife won't divorce me!
