Hello-

I'm looking at a couple of good deals on used skiis. One is the O'brien Synergy and the other is an O'brien Rumor Comp. Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I would like to know which design is newer, which is more aggressive vs. recreational, etc... Can't find much info. on these. Thanks!

agree with Horton, but dont burn them.... hate to inhale fiberglass particles :( for a few dollars more you can have a much newer ski. FYI I sold a 2007 HO system 8 for $120 blank a few years ago. I only paid 250 as a closeout! lots of deals out there on great skis. those ones are ancient and worn out even if they've been sitting (breaking down).

however, The rumor comp is much newer, like 2 decades old. The synergy could go back to the 80s, but was a "higher end" ski in their lineup at the time then the rumor comp was in its time. There was also a rumor "pro" which was a higher end tournament ski vs the comp, with the flex box on the forebody and an adjustable fin. the comp had only a sliding fin (for/aft).

Not at all. It's been years since I purchased a ski, so I'm having to play some catch up on product knowledge. Trying to find something in the $250-$300 range and these were considerably cheaper, so thought I would see what information I could find.
