Baller Chef23 Posted July 25, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2013 I ran my first 35 off today. I have been banging on the door this week getting to 5 ball twice and I finally ran it today. It wasn't off the dock but I am feeling much better about 35 right now. I took two cracks at 38 off in a tail and got 1/2 and 1. It has been about 3 years since I first ran 32 for me to run 35. Hopefully I can get through 38 in a similar time period.

Baller Chef23 Posted July 25, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted July 25, 2013 @Andre I never got to 5 ball until this week. Keep at it. A couple of tips made a difference.

Baller Texas6 Posted July 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 Congrats Chef! Its noted that you worked your ass off in the gym during the off season to prepare for the season. You earned it!!
Baller Chef23 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 4@35 off the dock this morning but I was definitely tired. 8 sets in 5 days is wearing me down. I did go off the dock at 28 off this morning. Thinking about regionals where I need 5@35 to qualify for Nationals if there is a wind blowing I want to run 35 into the wind so I might need that option. If I was fresh I think I would have gotten 5 this morning and maybe run the pass.
Baller webbdawg99 Posted July 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 @Chef23 Skiing too much has always hurt me WAY more than helped me. I love this sport and its hard to stay off the water (especially when you're making breakthroughs)....but you need to rest!
Baller Chef23 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 @webbdawg99 I have been at Travers this week with my son that is why I have been skiing so much. It is more than I usually ski at home. We are flying home tonight and I am definitely taking tomorrow off. I will probably ski Sunday, Monday, Wednesday or Thursday then ski at Regionals on Saturday. I should pretty well rested by then.

Baller rfa Posted July 26, 2013 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 Hey Mr. @Chef...we talked last night and you didn't mention it...you should have told me..i would have "yelled" congrats over the phone...well, that's fantastic! Congrats!!!
Baller Chef23 Posted July 26, 2013 Author Baller Share Posted July 26, 2013 @jimbrake Travers was awesome. We were mostly coached by Jaret Bull for slalom, my son by Alex King for jump. Trick was a guy named Matthew from South Africa. I did get Jack for one slalom round and my son by Chris Travers for a jump set.
