Baller vtjc Posted September 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2013 CC SN 206 Fixer Upper http://www.crashedtoys.com/Gallery.aspx?InventoryID=1153590 http://www.crashedtoys.com/Inventory.aspx?InventoryID=1153590&secid=1&trc=1&vt=&st=&fa=&ad=&ati=&pd=&sc=&mk=184&mdl=&yf=&yt=&mz=&z=&pg=1&tpg=&rcppg=20&vtg=&fts=&so=5&bn=0&d=2b4ed460723b4ab99ed23fe3987ff141#b96b20cc7eba4a76b0bbc83d0c45f7a5 I think this boat still has some life in it, but obviously would need fiberglass work, windshield, engine cover. The extent of bow damage, engine, trans and electrical looks like the biggest unknowns. It's encouraging they cared enough to cover the motor. I wonder what happened to damage the boat. Baller Waternut Posted September 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2013 Cool. I'm watching it even though I'm in GA and I'm sure it'll sell for way more than I'm willing to spend on a second project boat. Still, I think that boat would require less work than a lot of older boats that haven't been cared for.
Baller oldjeep Posted September 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2013 I wouldn't give you $10 for that thing. It says flood damage and the gauges are full of water. No way that the motor isn't junk.
Baller_ MISkier Posted September 1, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted September 1, 2013 When I read that listing, it says the engine and boat cover are both missing. I think the photos were taken before the insurance company removed the engine and sold that off. Sounds like any buyer would be supplying an engine. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller oldjeep Posted September 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2013 I think they meant that the engine cover and boat cover are both missing - since the engine cover is not in the photos. The boat would be as pictured for the auction.
Baller 6balls Posted September 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2013 Looks like big flood/storm bashing into all kinds of stuff and maybe capsized. Wouldn't touch it.
Baller bhs Posted September 1, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2013 I'm with 6balls, bet that motor is full of water. Trailer would be fine!

Baller Waternut Posted September 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2013 Rebuilding the motor isn't difficult and glass work is a cake walk. Transmission and engine electronics would be the only things that worry me.
Baller ForrestGump Posted September 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2013 PCM transmissions run $1750 new. It's cheaper to just replace than rebuild in most instances. Although, most likely you can drain the trans fluid and refill and it'd be fine. That's a limited so you'll no doubt be replacing the gateway box. The 07 gateway box that you'd use for Zero Off is right at $900. Gauges will run close to $1000 new. Breaker box is $530. Keypads are $375. Depending on the length of time it was under water, you may be replacing the entire wiring harness and engine harness. Windshield will be a big ticket item unless you can find a used one. We replaced one on a 196 a few years back. New, it was $3k. It starts adding up. Even used prices will have you spending a ton.
Baller oldjeep Posted September 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2013 Yes and no on rebuilding the engine. Maybe not difficult, but if it has been sitting with water in it then expensive. Overbore, new pistons, lifters, every bearing in the motor, maybe new cam and crank regrind depending on how much stuff has dried out - and every electronic piece in the boat. Baller XR6Hurricane Posted September 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2013 Well, whatever happened, I'm guessing that about 2 seconds beforehand Jackie Gleason yelled "Duck or you're gonna be talkin' outta yo a$$!"
Baller oldjeep Posted September 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2013 @Jody_seal - well its at $50 ;) And the owner cared enough about it to use mailbox numbers for the registration ID on the hull.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted September 2, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted September 2, 2013 lots of parts! The trailer is worth a grand easy! No more than three big on a bid.... I dont think the engine is hurt! Nor the tranny either.
Baller ral Posted September 2, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2013 If I was @Jody_Seal, I would bid. It looks OK and I am pretty sure he can fix it. As I cannot fix it, and I am several thousand miles from where it is, I will not...
Baller_ Wish Posted September 2, 2013 Baller_ Share Posted September 2, 2013 In the front. That's a cracked top section all the way through. That boat had to take a massive hit to the front end. Or it was lifted by it's I rings for removal/relocate incorrectly and snapped it. (lifted from a center point). I've see that happen. Wrecker crew not knowing how to lift it. Either way, that's a big cost to repair. Another cost to add.
kona
It will cost $25 just for a month membership to bid on it.
Baller ScarletArrow Posted September 3, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 3, 2013 I think that's Mike VanDevere's old boat (judging by the decal on the trailer). About a month back there was a huge rainstorm and his lake (Emerald - site of '04 MC Pro Tour) was 10ft high...the boat was floated off his lift and was crushed into the supports above. Baller behindpropellers Posted September 4, 2013 Baller Share Posted September 4, 2013 I don't think so. It was the 200 that had the windshield broken. The sport and malibu were ok.
