Looks like 40+ years ago, and your father is one of them, of course.

My best guess would have to be early 1970's.

@Mateo Vargas -the thing on that old obrien ski is a piece of foam float. awsa rules have always required a ski to float ande with the heavy double boot rubber and metal hardware it probably didn't float much if at all. back in the 70s jim salamas had a fiber glass western wood slalom with a big chunk of foam ski vest glued to the tip for the same reason.

I need to get one of those red and white checkered outfits. If you are going to wear something like that, you have no choice but to be a good skier.

Great photo John! 2nd from right is Dick Kellner, Dr. Jack, Hey ya hay ya Mr. Art Smecker, Al Frosini. I had the good fortune to ski with those guys! What is this 68 69??? Thanks!!!

I skied with Dick Kellner once with my uncle who was the Utah state slalom champion when I was a teenager. My uncle who is still a ski instructor at Alta came out with me last year and he was 76 and ran 28 off at 34 mph on his old EP 72 inch ski. I just wanted to stay in the boat after that because I am not worthy.

What i see in this picture is the same camaraderie i have with my skiing patrners.

That has not change in waterskiing.
