Baller_ RichardDoane Posted October 6, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted October 6, 2014 we're still skiing in the PNW, the water's down to barely over 60 but the Imperial tourney is in 2 weeks, so trying to not get the bag suit out until afterwards, then it'll be ski once a week to just keep in tune
Baller WallyGater Posted October 6, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 6, 2014 Extended my season in AZ with a couple tournament days of 100+ degrees this past weekend but now it's time to dig out my "space suit" (as Zippy said!). We'll most likely be breaking a thin layer of ice as we've done the last few years.

Baller Stathis Ventouris Posted October 7, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 7, 2014 Last weekend air went down to 65 and water to 68 compared to 86 and 82 respectively from three weeks ago (23rd of September). Expected to be back up to 77 and 73 for next weekend and the following week. I went from bare skin to the 1mm Camaro and hopefully back to shorts. Temperatures are mild usually until mid December (low 70's to mid - high 60's) but the last 2 years managed to have 3 to 4 sets per month even in January and February (will try to do the same this year). Baller skialex Posted October 7, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 7, 2014 @Stathis Ventouris yesterday at 19:30 was dark but warmer that Sunday morning. I could barely see the buoys!
Baller slvrbulit Posted October 8, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 8, 2014 Skied yesterday late afternoon on Wallum lake in MA. High 60's air temp and wore a 2mm top. Wasn't to bad but it was probably last run of the year for me.
Baller schafer Posted October 8, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 8, 2014 Water is 47° in Alberta. Air was about the same on Saturday and Sunday morning. But the water was glass. So it's all worth it.
Baller Razorskier1 Posted October 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2014 imagine being out at your course on a public lake at 6:45 AM. The moon is up over the west of the course, the sun hasn't yet risen, although the sky is starting to glow. It's 37 degrees outside with water temp of 54 . . . and you get to rip two sets behind your new ProStar before work!!! I am the luckiest guy in the world! Baller DonT Posted October 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2014 A few pulls w/ the wife last night - dicey getting the boat in due to low lake levels at Utah Lake. Time to winterize and think about shredding the backcountry. Hope to see Chris Rossi up in the Wasatch this winter.

Baller Razorskier1 Posted October 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2014 @thager. Somebody has to do it! I ran 38 today, so it's all good!
Baller Steven_Haines Posted October 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2014 @Razorskier1, you're an animal! My life time goal is to run 38! Luck? Stars aligned? Practice? Who cares! I'll take it! 37 degrees? You're crazy! d-)
Baller Texas6 Posted October 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2014 Expecting another cold front down here next week which might drive the water temps down into the frigid high 70's to low 80's. Just brutal! :). In all seriousness, I have no idea how one could ski at such a high level when water temps are low 50's - that's amazing
Baller Razorskier1 Posted October 9, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2014 First time I've pushed the line short since I got the new ski. Been running tons of 32s to figure out how to ski on a really fast ski that loves to turn and hold angle. Getting it now. Across two sets I skied two 28s, eight 32s, six 35s, and ran 4 at 38 and then ran 38.

Baller_ MISkier Posted October 10, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted October 10, 2014 Skied tonight. Water and air both 59. The bigger challenge is the sun in the evening. It was very hard to see the gates, 1, 3, and 5 going in one direction. May have to resort to early afternoon on the weekends. Probably another week or two. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller BRY Posted October 10, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2014 Water is 85 and air is 88 today. Didn't tell my wife I was stopping and pretty sure she has no intentions of stopping either.

Baller jipster43 Posted October 11, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2014 I just returned from two days of skiing up in the Flathead. Public waters, but very tricky access, so it really feels like your own private cove. And gorgeous! Met @Deanoski only to find I knew him 30 years ago when we were in the same snow ski program - very cool reminiscing but my pumpkin ain't no steel trap. I had forgotten lots of names. After one pass Deano gave me a little tip that changed my skiing immediately and dramatically. Thanks Deano! It was great meeting you - again! And I'm stoked to do the Mission Ridge/Tate Lake Day in the spring. So my Montana season is now over. All that remains is a week in Kauaii at the end of the month. Drag. Baller Texas6 Posted October 11, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2014 @Razorskier1 - how does your body survive 60 passes? Seriously, that's insane. If I do that many in a week I start breaking down. That is a gift
Baller Razorskier1 Posted October 11, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2014 @Texas6 Yep, definitely a gift and I appreciate having it! Two 28s, six 35s and 52 passes at 32 off. My last two sets were fourteen 32s and ten 32s.
Baller oldjeep Posted October 11, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2014 Going out for a cruise today to look at the leaves, then I'm going to winterize the boat and call it a season. 32F when I woke up this morning, time to be done.

Baller A_B Posted October 11, 2014 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2014 Just think of how long your break between sets would be when just skiing with one person! My problem is my buddy is in worse shape than me, so I get 3 or 4 passes for a rest.

Baller_ MISkier Posted October 12, 2014 Baller_ Share Posted October 12, 2014 Just finished skiing. I've decided to call it a year and heal my elbow. It's been bad enough to affect my skiing and I have been concerned that I am continuing to compound whatever damage is there. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
