2015 nationals???

I know it hasn't been too long since SMRR decided to not host nationals again. Anyone know where it could be? club talking about doing it? Know when they will anounce? Getting anxious for next year and trying to budget a trip. Thanks

I have heard from a very reliable source it is 95% going to be at West Palm. They would love to have some volunteers to help work .

That's not what I wanted to hear. Nothing against WPB but it takes a bigger budget to fly from Colorado to the west coast for regionals the turn around and fly to the east coast for nationals. Was hoping for San Diego area. Flights are much cheaper.

@skier2768 if the Nationals end up at WPB try flying into FLL or MIA instead of WPB. MCO is almost always cheaper than WPB but requires a drive.

@skier2788‌ - you were hoping for Nationals to be in the San Diego area? I was hoping for them to be in San Francisco. Maybe McCovey Cove. Or Lake Tahoe would be nice, too. You know if they had the nationals on Mission (Impossible) Bay that your score would go down roughly one pass, right?

I guess I didn't mean to complain but it is almost 1,000 dollars cheaper for me to go west then it is to go east. Had heard maybe southern california. That's all.

Yep. Paducah, KY is what I heard too. Washington state in the west. Houston area in the south central and Chicago area (Wilmington) in the Midwest. Unsure about the east.

As of the first of October (to my understanding) no one in the SR had submitted a bid for regionals. It's getting harder to find sites willing to take on the big tournaments. Just so much work with decreasing return.

The East looks like Lake Holly, Va., but there is no final decision yet. I have not heard of any other interested sites. There were no permanent ski sites interested in holding the 2014 Regionals, which is why I hosted them on public water in Lake Placid. The 2016 Jr. U. S. Open will at the Pangaea Puddle in Canajoharie, NY (near Albany), the site of the 2011, 2012 and 2013 Eastern Regionals.
