I want to buy the best boot regarding performance/comfort.

Does anyone use the HO xmax for slalom? Or is it just for open-water??

Bindings recommendations???

Plz help me with this one cause waterskiing season is coming and I have a ski but no bindings

You ask "~the best boot regarding performance/comfort".

Reflex

USA: http://reflexwaterskiusa.com/

Europe: http://reflexworld.com/

OB4 http://www.ob4systems.com/

Both are real boots that allow you to have a very close fit, no slop, and great comfort. Both have dual boot or front boot RTP solutions. Both will fit any ski with inserts. I believe both are as safe as anything out there and safer than lace-up solutions. People invariably eventually snug up lace-ups to get a tight fit which risks too hard or no release.

My leaning is towards the Reflex with the "R" style rear. Best of both worlds between rear boot and RTP. Seems most people run rear boot loose, not a good idea in dual hard shells, and the "R" is essentially a design for that. Lots of pro's on Reflex. And did I say comfy?

The Goode PS5 is a good high perfromance system with great comfort also. I found the velcro release worked surprisingly well for me. Just a major pain in the ass to maintain.

I read a thread a few days ago, but now I can't find it. Someone said that when mounting an OB4, measuring same distance from tail as previous boot, you must mount if a bit closer to the rear of the ski vs the boot removed from the same ski. Would that be a 1/4" closer to the rear or less?

@blakeyates I would mount the new binding in relation to your ankle bone in your old bindings and not the rear of the ski. That will give you a good starting point. The amount of material between different bindings differs from where the heal is to the outside of the binding where you would be measuring to.
