Members texas_slalom_trick
Hey guys, this ain't really a discussion, but does any body use a wily trick rap? I just put a regular Wiley on my trick ski,and I have to use something to tighten it. Thoughts? Anybody got any for sale?
Baller_ The_MS Posted August 25, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted August 25, 2015 I used the trick wrap on my slalom ski for 5 years. Much better support compared to the high wrap.
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted August 27, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted August 27, 2015 I used to use trick wraps on my slalom before going to hard shells. IMO they are the best rubber binding design out there. But for a trick ski, the trick wrap is second best. If you are buying a new binding for a trick ski do yourself a favor and get a reflex. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
supersonicus
@Bruce_Butterfield Just received a pro build binding for my new ski. Now I'm wondering if I should have got the trick wrap... How much more support is there on the trick wrap? How about comfort and ease of putting on?
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted August 27, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted August 27, 2015 @supersonicus depending on your level, the Wiley pro wrap should be fine (Jeff Rodgers still uses it), but amount of support is largely individual preference. Give it a try as is and if you think you want more support Wiley's is really good with customer service and will swap the overlay for a reasonable charge. I'm a tad anal about my feet not moving around and use to make my own Frankenstein version of the trick wrap with extra thick rubber on the overlays, then duck tape around both ankles for additional support. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding

Baller_ lpskier Posted August 27, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted August 27, 2015 A replacement overlay from Wiley's is $20 from Perfski. Very reasonable. Lpskier
Baller GAJ0004 Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 I have a Wiley's trick wrap. It has been a good binding for 15 seasons. I have replaced 2 overlays over the years. If you order one from Wileys, they can adjust how tight it is for your personal preference.
Baller dchristman Posted August 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2015 Oh, the stuff you can find online... the thread's title has been begging me for a response. I found a rap name generator and lyric generator online: The Wiley Trick Rap In The Style Of Eminem by Teflon Donny D Shot May I have your attention please? I'm not afraid (I'm not afraid) To throw a flip (to throw a flip) Everybody (everybody) Come take my lead (come take my lead) We'll ski in Wiley’s together, through the storm Whatever weather, cold or warm His arms are hard, toes smooth, elbows are broken There's food on his boot already, brother's water He's nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready to throw a flip, But he keeps on forgetting what he wrote down, And I am, velvet If I wasn't, then why would I say I am? In the paper, the news everyday I am Radio won't even play my jam 'Cause I am, velvet If I wasn't, then why would I say I am? In the paper, the news everyday I am I don't know it's just the way I am You better toe line step You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to throw a flip This opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo You better toe line step You own it, you better never let it go You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to throw a flip This opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo So lets go back Follow the the boat as we go on another episode Journey with me as I take you through wiley I once used to call home sweet home Well, gotta go, I'm almost at the lake now And when I'm gone, just throw a flip, don't mourn Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my hard arms Just know that I'm looking down on you trick And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain Just toe line step And when he's gone, just throw a flip, don't mourn Rejoice every time you hear the sound of his smooth toes Just know that he's looking down on you flip And his didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain Just toe line step in your boot. Felix Bauer
Hey Guys, So does the wiley trick wrap give you more foothold than the standard slalom warp? How is it compared to the HO Animal?
