Baller dchristman Posted September 27, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 27, 2015 It might need some tuning, but there was no problem with releasing OTF :p
Baller Chef23 Posted September 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 Love it. I think you need to take some tip out to keep the nose from diving.
Baller_ Wish Posted September 28, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted September 28, 2015 That has the same very low tip rocker as the Denali.
Baller Zman Posted September 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 Might be the safest binding system yet.
Baller dchristman Posted September 28, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 @wish I'm not sure because it has no graphics, but I think it may be a proto-experimental Denali. @chef23 unfortunately this one came with a fully integrated, fixed horizontal fin. I may have to do some sanding. @zman It's the Freelease binding system with Infini-just. I'm not sure the system is legal because I can adjust via toe creep while riding. Baller dchristman Posted September 28, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 ... actually, I think it may be a rare Samuelson short board. It's probably not intended for slalom. I'll have to find something else to do with it...

Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted September 28, 2015 Supporting Member Share Posted September 28, 2015 How the HELL did you keep that thing under you for so long? Also, I'd worry about splinters!
Baller dchristman Posted September 28, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 @Than_Bogan I can't tell you, I'm under NDA for the Freelease binding design. I accept the splinter risk "...But decision-making is about risks AND REWARDS. People who ignore this tradeoff and focus only on risk are doomed to do nothing rewarding (or impressive)." Baller_ Wish Posted September 28, 2015 Baller_ Share Posted September 28, 2015 I'd think a good sized splinter that has not released from the board would help keep the foot nice and planted on the stick. Little blood would never hurt a ski.
Baller Texas6 Posted September 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 Man; just when you stared getting confident on that thing too!! Love the initiative. If I'm not mistaken, the only other baller who's given the stick an honest run was @thekrista. And if I remember correctly, hers ended exactly the same way. Anybody want to add that video to this thread for comparison purposes?
Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted September 28, 2015 Supporting Member Share Posted September 28, 2015 @dchristman I can't stop laughing. These posts are the awesomest posts in quite a while. The name "freelease" is brilliant. But using not just one but TWO of my previous posts against me is even more brilliant!!!
Baller jerrym Posted September 28, 2015 Baller Share Posted September 28, 2015 You may want to upgrade to the 33.25 inch - it should allow you to cast out a bit further.

Baller dchristman Posted September 29, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted September 29, 2015 @Fast351 where am I? What year is it? I don't know if I knocked myself senseless or I had none before I started. @Than_Bogan I can't stop laughing either - I must have hit my funny bone on the dismount. Every time I see that ending it's like I have PTSD.

Baller dchristman Posted December 4, 2015 Author Baller Share Posted December 4, 2015 An update on the board - I rode it again a couple weeks ago and I want to report that it performs as well in cold water as it does in warm. It has a new name. It's called the Challenger D. Contrary to its namesake it doesn't ride very deep, but it will take you down.

Baller dchristman Posted August 19, 2023 Author Baller Share Posted August 19, 2023 OK, I haven't unlocked the next level yet. I think the SSM-RTP (Sub-Surface-Mount) pairs well with the Direct Connect Classic Reflex, but I need to do some tuning or refine my technique. The board seems slower than I anticipated. 1
