Baller rodltg2 Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 I'm hoping to upgrade to a ZO boat. curious what ballers think is a fair price considering higher hours. currently has 1720 +/- and climbing. otherwise it's in great condition and runs strong. I have it listed at 11999. was thinking and hoping to sell it somewhere between 10-12k. if it was lower hours I know it would go for 13-14k. Baller Onside135 Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 Nice boat, but I think you just told a bunch of potential buyers your real price is as low as $10K. Not sure if this was your intent or not....
Baller aupatking Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 beautiful boat. I hope a baller buys it. I love mine
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted February 25, 2016 Baller_ Share Posted February 25, 2016 Looks just like my '97, currently with 2800 hrs on it! Seriously, if you have that boat and want ZO, by far your best option is to replace the engine. When I did mine 4 years ago it was just under $10k Call @Jodyseal and get it rolling. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Baller rodltg2 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 I thought about re power but would like a bigger boat with open bow. like the new mastrrcraft a lot , but also like the 200.
Baller 6balls Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 Would have re-powered already if I lived nearby. Not fond of increasing the cost by two way shipping nor driving to Florida and back from MN. Gets close to the $15K premium to get into a newer 196 with ZO. Two ballers last year came in under $30K...I think one of em under $25K for a 196 with ZO.
crashman
price seems fair to me; for 10k firm I would think it would be gone in a week
Baller jhughes Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 What's the interior look like? If you're asking for a valuation that's a crucial aspect- a new set of skins costs the same as a long block!
Baller rodltg2 Posted February 25, 2016 Author Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 interior is great. drivers seat has a few splits. other than no rips or tears anywhere else.
Baller Orlando76 Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 I think your listing price is spot on. I wouldn't take less than 10,500$.
Baller harddock Posted February 25, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 25, 2016 As the price of new boats climbs, so does the value of good clean older ones. Depending on your location (supply vs demand) you should not have to "give away" a Nautique or MasterCraft. They sure as hell don't give away new ones! Baller_ Wish Posted February 25, 2016 Baller_ Share Posted February 25, 2016 The bubble back 196 hull can stand toe to toe with any current hull as far as wakes go at any speed or line length.
Baller Waternut Posted February 26, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2016 Probably get closer to $12k if you wait to sell until early-mid summer... Don't sell yourself short on hours if you've taken care of the boat. I likely wouldn't even advertise that and just explain yourself if someone asks. If someone said their boat had 2500 hours on it but provided compression numbers and told me there were no leaks and doesn't burn oil, I'd probably snatch it right up. Would take it over a boat with 600 hours but looked like it'd been left to sit in the sun for a lot of it's life too.
Baller ozski Posted February 26, 2016 Baller Share Posted February 26, 2016 Oh yeah the 196 is the entry level tournament boat that Nautique should have retained in some way. ZO bare bones with a 6.0 at a decent price and they would sell plenty. You have to wonder...

Baller Fast351 Posted March 8, 2016 Baller Share Posted March 8, 2016 Wow, is that the factory interior? That is WELL cared for. I'm anal about maintenance on my boats, and my 450 hour 211 doesn't even look that good.
Baller rodltg2 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Baller Share Posted March 16, 2016 I've been getting a lot of inquires , but once they hear how many hours , they hang up ! I've had a number of callers who thought the hours were a typo . maybe after we ski tomorrow , I will drive the course in reverse to undo the hours ! worked for Bueller ! Baller aupatking Posted March 16, 2016 Baller Share Posted March 16, 2016 Hey @rodltg2 you may need to watch that movie again. It won't end well for a really pretty boat
Baller 6balls Posted March 26, 2016 Baller Share Posted March 26, 2016 Rod now has it listed at $10.5K...doesn't that seem like a lot of boat for that price? Baller liquid d Posted March 26, 2016 Baller Share Posted March 26, 2016 when the engine does take a dump, they can have one of the best hulls ever made with a zo engine for under 20k....worth every penny!
Baller rodltg2 Posted March 27, 2016 Author Baller Share Posted March 27, 2016 got her all cleaned up for sale. hours scare everyone off so far. $10.5 is as low as it gets. otherwise ill just keep for another season.
SDNAH2OSKIER
As a point of reference, I regularly buy old police cruisers, (Crown Victoria Police Interceptors) and they typically have 16-2500 idle hours and that is considered low. Most of them have 4000-6500, and 100-120K miles, now granted these are IDLE hours but it still gives you a sense of confidence about the reliability of a modern V8. I saw one older Crown Vic with 315k on the original motor. Its a matter of educating the buyer. I will also say I have bought 2 very low hour boats and both wound up being problematic. Baller escmanaze Posted March 29, 2016 Baller Share Posted March 29, 2016 That boat looks like it's in really good condition. Stay Patient, it's still winter in most of the country.
Baller BrennanKMN Posted March 29, 2016 Baller Share Posted March 29, 2016 Frankly, if you are scared off those hours you must not know much about these boats/engines. I'd much rather buy a boat with hours on it than one that sat all the time. 100 hours a year is not outrageous by any means. Hell, I'd shy away from a boat with less than 20 hours a year. Someone is going to get an amazing boat here. Best of luck with your sale.
Baller_ MISkier Posted March 30, 2016 Baller_ Share Posted March 30, 2016 It's all about the maintenance and the water quality where it is used. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
