Baller rodltg2 Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 Have mellow ramp and not to far to tow/launch. Couple hundred feet or so. Tow capacity is 2000lbs on the Polaris. Don't know if anyone makes one with a higher tow cap. So I would be pushing it. Hoping to get a lift soon, so it wouldnt be used too often. I need / want to get one anyway, so I'm thinking to get the one with a higher tow cap. So I can use it to launch.
Baller mwetskier Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 i would be more concerned about relative mass. being able to tow 2000 lbs on reasonably level ground is one thing but trying to back a boat down a launch ramp and control it's decent with the brakes on a vehicle that it out weighs is an entirely different matter. so i think you should go for it -and don't forget to take video.
Baller rawly Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 Launch my 196 with a 4x4 Kawasaki Mule. No problem.
Baller rawly Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 Towing capacity is rated at only 1200 pounds.
Baller bigtex2011 Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 Ive used both a mule and polaris ranger launching our 200. for us it was dicey stopping while backing down the ramp.
E_T Posted April 27, 2016 Posted April 27, 2016 stopping shouldt matter , back it down till it floats and pull out
Baller oldjeep Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 Stopping kind of matters if you are trying to pull it out ;) I'm with the take video group.
Elite Skier ColeGiacopuzzi Posted April 27, 2016 Elite Skier Posted April 27, 2016 We use a john deer gator, will launch and pull the boat out no problem. Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller rodltg2 Posted April 27, 2016 Author Baller Posted April 27, 2016 We're talking minimal grade and length launch ramp. Man made ski lake. Ramp is probably 5 ft or less before water line.
Baller keithh2oskier Posted April 27, 2016 Baller Posted April 27, 2016 I think your probably fine for a private lake launch ramp. Just take it slow and make sure the ramp is dry. For what its worth, I have basically slid down a wet ramp in a fullsize bronco before launching a MC 190.
Baller bojans Posted April 28, 2016 Baller Posted April 28, 2016 We use a Kubota RTV all the time. It works great and the short wheelbase makes maneuvering int the barn very easy.
