Baller Dacon62 Posted October 12, 2016 Baller Posted October 12, 2016 Having a hard time finding a new Primex muffler that was originally installed in the boat. Lots of places have the new Verna style muffler by Centex but would like the mufflers to match. Already have one new Primex. Needs its twin.
Baller oldjeep Posted October 12, 2016 Baller Posted October 12, 2016 This? Centek Primex Silencer 31 3/4 Inch Straight Black Fiberglass Ski Boat Muffler 1MS-035-1845
Baller Dacon62 Posted October 12, 2016 Author Baller Posted October 12, 2016 No, need it with a 60 degree elbow on one end. I will try and load a pick if I can and dimensions.
Baller gregy Posted October 12, 2016 Baller Posted October 12, 2016 There was a thread on here about someone repair a muffler. @wish maybe can't remember.
Baller oldjeep Posted October 12, 2016 Baller Posted October 12, 2016 There is a picture of one here: marineparts catalog Didn't find anything with that part number that doesn't just refer you to the new version
Baller Dacon62 Posted October 12, 2016 Author Baller Posted October 12, 2016 Thanks for the suggestions. Looks just like that just need a shorter version.
Baller bigskieridaho Posted October 12, 2016 Baller Posted October 12, 2016 Just straight pipe it. Sounds better
Baller Waternut Posted October 12, 2016 Baller Posted October 12, 2016 What about just running the one in the link @oldjeep posted and buying a 60° silicone hose like this. http://www.siliconeintakes.com/60-silicone-bend/silicone-60-p-339.html
Baller gregy Posted October 13, 2016 Baller Posted October 13, 2016 Cut the elbow off the old one. Use epoxy and fiberglass to bond it to the new one.
Baller Orlando76 Posted October 13, 2016 Baller Posted October 13, 2016 Yeah I remember my Grandma had mufflers on her Malibu. She won them playing shuffleboard. Honestly though, I'd run the shorter muff and adapt to it with a hose.
Baller BraceMaker Posted October 13, 2016 Baller Posted October 13, 2016 Please just remember that mufflers are 4" diameter holes in your hull below the waterline
Baller Dacon62 Posted October 13, 2016 Author Baller Posted October 13, 2016 I hear you @BraceMaker I like piece of mind and don't like surprises...new mufflers are going in.
Baller BraceMaker Posted October 13, 2016 Baller Posted October 13, 2016 Ya can tell you think the way I do. More to the point that future readers should be sure to use real marine plumbing ;)
