Baller cragginshred Posted November 10, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 10, 2017 I went to put my climbing shoe on this am and happen to spread my pinkie toe to find this. I get cracks there in the summer and now that its almost winter I wear socks all the time and don'y look between my toes so much. My co worker is a wound specialist and she said the white tissue is moisture and she is unsure about the green -not fungal. There is a crack/cut and I am thinking it never really healed and stayed moist. Just wondering if it's nasty water related and if any of you all have had or seen something like this? Baller Edbrazil Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 Back in school, I was doing swimming for a Winter sport. Indoor pool with lots of chlorine in it. By the end of the Winter Term, I had green dandruff.
Baller auskier Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 I am also a wound care specialist. Could be pseudomonas. A bug commonly found in infected wounds that causes green puss basically. Wash it with vinegar for a few days and see if it helps.
Baller LeonL Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 Or try peroxide. Maybe even Absorbine Jr. Or some other athletes foot treatment.
Baller cragginshred Posted November 13, 2017 Author Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 I went straight to prompt care and it was pseudomonas -bad case of athletes foot. 5 day anti biotic/heavy duty prescribed cream. Combo of climbing shoes/no socks and not drying between my toes after hot tub then shower. I have felt cracks under my toes during the summer but don't always inspect like I should. I was checking here just to see if any Ballers had developed anything like this from too much water time.
Baller BraceMaker Posted November 13, 2017 Baller Share Posted November 13, 2017 Skip the peroxide, that should only be used for getting blood stains out of your shirt or to make your dog vomit - otherwise dump it down the sink. Vinegar, or listerine and vicks vapor rub would be the home remedy of choice. Get a shallow basin and pour some vinegar and listerine in it then wiggle your toes and dump it out when done. Then get some gauze and weave it loosely between the toes up/down/up/down after your shower to help it ventilate and dry out in there. The vicks will help the cracking - if you get splits in the skin rub that into your heels and between toes then put socks on before you go to bed. Both vicks and listerine have menthol and thymol.
