New Reflex 840 release system? Does it allow for closer double boot placement?

Do the new Reflex bindings with the 840 release system allow for closer placement for a rear reflex binding for slalom skiing? Double Reflex bindings? I noticed that the older releases had to be moved apart too much for me. Does anyone have an tried them?

I am using Powershells and am looking for something more reliable than velcro!
