ZO is Working!

It took some time. But I now have ZO on my 1999 Malibu Response LX.

I got a used 5.7 2012 Indmar out of V-drive Sanger. It was complete with Econtrol computer wiring harness Cat exhaust manifolds. Used original transmission and starter. I didn't get the original throttle sensor/shifter so I ended up using a throttle sensor and mount from a Nautique and connecting it to the original throttle cable.

Fabricated plate that mounts under throttle body. It holds the throttle sensor and original arrestor.

The ZO head I found on Ski-it-again. My friend bought the engine for a Chris Craft project and decided not to use it. Got a single GPS antenna from ZO.

whoever fabricated that mounting plate for you really knew what they were doing.

@mwetskier I fabbed that up myself. My aluminum welding is a little weak the first few welds took a lot of cleaning up but the last looked perfect.

With arrestor on, I had to open up the hole some to fit the throttle body.

 

Fabricated a mount for the computer and fuse box as well.

 

I was trying to do this as cheaply as possible so I found all the factory connectors and made the wire harness that were needed. The existing wiring harness from the engine to the helm was used for the most part, I only had to run the twisted pair of wires from the ZO head back to the engine harness.
