Baller GWaterski Posted May 9, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 9, 2019 This will be held on Lake Grew, right behind the new Action Water Sports!

Baller_ lpskier Posted May 9, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted May 9, 2019 There’s something you don’t see everyday. $50 for a three round C in Florida. Including lunch. Hats off to Action for bringing a bit of their midwest roots to the Sunshine State. Lpskier

Baller skierjp Posted May 9, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 9, 2019 I think it's more Kiwi than Action
Baller ScottScott Posted May 9, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 9, 2019 Kyle does tournaments regularly there. Last year there was an "Action Watersports" tournament that I believe was a kyle tournament. It got cancelled due to conflict with other tournaments in the area. This action watersports tournment has Action people as the contacts, so I believe it is more action than kyle.
Baller_ Wish Posted May 9, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted May 9, 2019 Well whoever it is they are to be thanked repededly for putting on a 3 round event for $50 in FL. 40 entries should (and I hope) fill up fast.
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted May 9, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted May 9, 2019 That is Correct! The Florida Water Ski Federation is proud to announce that the 2019 State Championships is going to Fluid and Lake Grew this year. Thank you Kyle for stepping up to make this event happen. Sorry about the long link but for some reason the hyperlink option refuses to work. https://www.usawaterski.org/rankings/View-TournamentsHQ.asp?pvar=TourInfo&TourID=19S160&olrds=enabled&rg=1&sl=on&tr=on&ju=on&wb=&ws=&wu=&bf=&kb=&hy=&sExclude=
Baller GWaterski Posted May 10, 2019 Author Baller Share Posted May 10, 2019 @LPSkier - I can confirm, being from MI - you are absolutely correct! The AWS team (Kyle included) is heading to FL to host a great tournament.
Baller dave2ball Posted May 10, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 10, 2019 @skierjp this is an action water sports event. Kiwi is not involved or should I say his ski school. It looks like most of the officials have been brought in for the event.
Baller_ lpskier Posted May 10, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted May 10, 2019 I’m torn between submitting an entry (because it sounds like it will be a really fun event) and keeping the spot open for someone who is usually priced out of tournaments. Personally, I’d love to see it filled with 40 first timers. Lpskier
Baller Cnewbert Posted May 14, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2019 How is the set up there for spectators? Decent viewing?
Baller ScottScott Posted May 14, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 14, 2019 @Cnewbert Very good. Not a lot of tree cover along the shoreline, so if you're hanging out long you may want to bring a canopy.
turn_n_six
Hi Everyone, We are excited to host class "C" Tournaments at Action Water Sports for skiers like myself that love the sport, want to ski tournaments without breaking the bank, get scores to qualify for Regional's, National's or just have a great time hanging out skiing with other skiers that love our sport. Our lake skis world class and is excellent for spectating. We include lunch and water for all skiers so you do not need to leave the site to eat. We are working on planting shade trees in the near future however if you have a pop-up tent take it along. We still have plenty of room and would love to have you come. turn_n_six
We will have the running order posted tomorrow.
Baller ScottScott Posted May 23, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 23, 2019 @turn_n_six I'm sure the running order will clarify some...but there are a couple discrepancies..... As posted above, the AWSA site shows it as a 3C, then under start time it states 8am 1st round, 2nd round following the 1st with no mention of a 3rd. Is it 2 or 3 rounds? Also, the AWSA listing is shown as just on the 25th. however the facebook event shows starting 8am on the 25th thru the 26th at 2pm... ? Is it a 3 round with the 3rd round Sunday? turn_n_six
Hi Scott, Sorry for the confusion. The tournament is a 3 round slalom all being held on Saturday the 25th. First round will go through the running order as shown in the attachment below. 2nd round and 3rd round is each skiers choice to turn and burn and do the 2nd and 3rd round at the same time or wait between rounds. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Please come to the dealership to check in and receive your entry gift bag.
Baller ScottScott Posted May 26, 2019 Baller Share Posted May 26, 2019 Thanks to @turn_n_six and everyone at Action for a great tournament. Looking forward to the next one....
turn_n_six
It was enjoyable meeting all of you and hosting our first Class C tournament at our lake last week Saturday. We had some first time tournament skiers, a person getting back into the sport after being away for 21 years and many other skiers excited to ski and meet other local enthusiasts. While Kyle will continue to host record events on our lake for the Elite Skiers it is our intention to host Class C events for enthusiasts like myself that do not benefit from the expense of skiing in a record event. Our hope is to help grow our sport and bring enthusiast together for a fun day on the water. The next class C event on our lake is the FL State 3 event in July and our October class C three event. Have a great week turning buoys!
