Baller ghutch Posted April 14, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 14, 2020 Anyone have any cool ideas on how to make some neat storage for ski gear? I have a 20x30 shop and am putting in my old kitchen cabinets. Would love to make it more "ski" specific. Pics?
Baller cougfan Posted April 15, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 15, 2020 Here are some pics of my boat garage. I used 2 dowels to hang life vests and wet suits and gloves on with a fan mounted above to help them dry. I mounted the skis and wakeboards on 3/4 pvc pipe anchored to the wall with 2x6’s with pipe insulation around the pvc pipes for protection Also have a pulley system mounted to the ceiling to store the tower when not on the boat. Only use the tower 1 week a year when we take our annual trip to Lake Entiat on the Columbia river
Baller Tom351 Posted April 15, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 15, 2020 @cougfan - that looks awesome! Also, how easily does your tower mount/unmount from the boat? Is it a custom attachment method? I am curious because I have been wanting to leave the tower home about 50% of the time when using my boat.
Baller cougfan Posted April 15, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 15, 2020 @Tom351 the tower mounts super easy! There are 2 bolts that have hex heads and 2 bolts with large plastic handles. Super easy to install and take off with 2 people. I mounted a pulley system to the ceiling to hold the tower when not in use

Baller teammalibu Posted April 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 16, 2020 @RichardDoane how do you keep the skis from sliding off the rack?
Baller skialex Posted April 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 16, 2020 36 skis and some more at the other side of my garage... @RichardDoane your rack is very interesting, it could save me some more space, what holds the skis on the rack? Baller_ RichardDoane Posted April 16, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted April 16, 2020 @sodbuster88 that's a beautiful Prostar @teammalibu @skialex I took that picture quickly @Horton 's place after the Cash Prize event when we went to get the Brendella, somehow my phone didn't get the proper orientation. Turn that photo 90 degrees and you'll see how organized John's office ski stash truly is. Literally a Ball of Skis.
Baller skimtb Posted April 16, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 16, 2020 @sodbuster88 Indeed a good looking Prostar. What is the deck lid supported on, or is it hanging from the handle?
sodbuster88
Thanks guys. Ever since my 25th limited, I’ve loved silver flake. @skimtb I mounted some Gladiator tool tracking (from Lowe’s) to set the deck lid in and using bungees to keep from tipping out from the wall. Works fantastic.
Wac
Regular old shelf brackets screwed thru into wall studs, with foam pipe insulation on shelf supports... don’t forget the kegerator ;-)
Baller AKShortline Posted April 17, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 17, 2020 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0009IC1PK?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details These actually work well for waterskis and they don't drip on each other. The ski hangs tip down and the fin block acts as a stop on the rubber coated fork. I'll be hanging my ski tomorrow if anyone wants a pic.

Baller cougfan Posted April 19, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 19, 2020 @GaryJanzig nice system you have there! What on earth is the chain for ? Is that for pulling those BIGGER BODY skiers?????
Baller GaryJanzig Posted April 19, 2020 Baller Share Posted April 19, 2020 @cougfan Those are the safety chains for the boat trailer, and another one is to lock up the boat lift. Also working on a prototype ski rope that should last a lifetime..
