Windows fogging.

We had the problem with the boat (2019 Prostar) during the winter months (Florida) and now in the summer when we go very early in the morning.

Any products I can try to prevent the windows from fogging up?

probably a foreign concept to you Floridians but in the north we use what's called a heater and point it at the windshield ;)

Which side? In the boat side or out of the boat side. ?

RainX also makes an anti-fog.

I always wondered why a defroster option wasn't included when the boat manufacturers started adding heaters into the boats.

@DaveD, when I installed my heater in my Malibu LX, I bought a Y splitter for the output hose and an extra louvered outlet. Then, I removed the cupholder to the right of the windshield door support and replaced it with the louvered outlet. I can direct heat there to the windshield in front of the helm. Didn't have to even cut anything to install it.

As most of the fog builds on the outside of the windshield, I guess Rain-X makes the most sense. I will give it a try.

The heater option would only make a difference on the inside of the windshield ?

Nothing worked as far as products to put on the windscreen. It would fog up on the outside and on the inside.

So I found this little tool that is designed to clean windows and it works perfectly;

Rain-x on both sides does help. You will still need to wipe it off though.

I think factors heaters have defroster port. On Prostar it would be to the right of that glovebox in you pic.

The heater gets rid of the fogging on the inside and outside. We have two 2014+ ProStars in our Wisconsin ski group, and often use the heaters specifically for defogging the driver's windshield. We ski early mornings.

I can concur that the windshield is clear and stays so within the first 1/2 mile of running in the mornings, 530-6 am

in my case old speaker holes were covered with 1/8" HDPE and 3" outlet installed,

one of the heater outlets teed to the two dash outlets

We now have a new boat with a heater and it indeed does solve the fogging problem. Thanks for the guidance.
