Damaged Ski - Repair Advice

Hi everyone, I noticed this evening that my ski got damaged during transit from the city to the lake. It looks like something fell on it in the car and nicked the top edge next to my front binding plate. It's a 22 Senate Graphite.

I was thinking about using a Dremel (very lightly) to remove the damaged material and then patch with west marine epoxy.

But before I do anything wanted to see if anyone has advice on how to proceed?

Thx, Sean

I switched to JBWeld Original for my ski inserts and aluminum wheel curb rash repairs after watching this product comparison test. Its black which will blend with the ski. Gorilla Glue makes some good products but their epoxy is finicky about fully curing.

I like using clamps, but on the nose of the ski they never want to stay on well. That’s how I figured out you can pull packing tape very tight, and it doesn’t form to the crack (dent) like a more pliable tape (duct tape). It holds the sharp edge line of the ski very well.

Where yours is, clamps should work great.

Also, wax paper between the epoxy and clamp or tape keeps it from sticking where you don’t want it to stick
