Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted September 13, 2022 Baller_ Share Posted September 13, 2022 seen hints of someone maybe in Mexico attempting to build or produce a tournament boat.seen this on my FB feed. looks to be a running prototype. looks like they popped off a ski nautique 196 bottom and sat a supra deck on it.. Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted September 13, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 13, 2022 Arturo Nelson. Good guy, good skier. His kids are up and coming jr skiers. Like @mbabiash said, it's a prototype. The center driver's seat is interesting for staying centered in the course. I've seen video of this prototype running and it has a pretty non existent wake and no spray but of course, there is no weight really without a top deck and interior. I look forward to seeing it progress.

Baller BraceMaker Posted September 14, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 14, 2022 @LoopSki I hope they keep it however I suspect it is just a placeholder for the top line of the hull and maybe to give rigidity to the lower hull for testing. Baller VONMAN Posted October 20, 2022 Baller Share Posted October 20, 2022 Being a bored automotive design engineer back around 94 designed this on CATIA. Center driver position with seating on each side and water ballast under each seat to level the boat. Driver's seat would slide back to gain access. Gas tank was in the bow. Engine covers were smaller back then and my design was wider like today's boats. This was my ski tugboat design. Enjoy, be nice. Baller BKistler Posted October 20, 2022 Baller Share Posted October 20, 2022 Back in the day, Tom Hardman’s son was developing a center drive outboard that never went into production. We featured a prototype in an article. Jim McCormick drove it and liked it. Center position raises challenges for trick pinning.

Baller Hockdog Posted December 29, 2022 Baller Share Posted December 29, 2022 The center driver seat is very interesting, does a ballast system come standard equipment if there are no passengers?
Baller aupatking Posted December 30, 2022 Baller Share Posted December 30, 2022 @HockdogI would think you’d need the ballast more if you have a single observer. 2 observers in my boat is rare. Driver with 1 observer typically balances the boat, in a standard boat.
Administrators Horton Posted December 30, 2022 Administrators Share Posted December 30, 2022 Nautiques lean left and Malibu / ProStars lean right because of prop rotation. Your boat may be balanced with a driver and an observer but that is because the factory already compensated for the prop rotation. If you put the driver in the middle you are going to have to move some ballast around. @Hockdogis exactly right - leveling the boat with the driver in the middle would mean moving more ballast around. Not a huge deal but you would have to pay attention. 1 Goode ★ HO Syndicate ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System Drop a dime in the can
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted December 30, 2022 Baller_ Share Posted December 30, 2022 Requiring ballast for side to side balance is no different than any other ski boat. This boat looks small and no frills. I really like the "out of the box" concepts going into this. Will wait and see what the finished product is like. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding

Baller Drew_Wright_OBXtoFl Posted March 27, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2023 Very cool. Many large yachts are made overseas in Poland Africa and other countries were labor cost would be lower than here. Baller dave2ball Posted March 27, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2023 78k base is that on U.S. soil? Seating looks like 2 table chair with legs taken off. Center drive is interesting. I don’t see it making a big splash here unless the interior comes up to current big 3 comforts.
Baller 03RLXi Posted March 27, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2023 I see nothing wrong with the concept of a basic towing tractor boat. Not everyone wants $, luxury, complexity, cleaning, weight (for towing and effect on wake), etc Do wonder about the design of the bow though. Dip the bow in a big roller and driver will get a very wet lap.
Baller dave2ball Posted March 27, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 27, 2023 @03RLXi I do agree with you on a basic slalom tug. But 78k seems a bit much for what is shown on the video. Is that base boat shown? If not what options are on the boat? You are correct about the bow.

Yes, does seem high however one off / very low production hand made labour intensive so understandable. Just guessing, maybe it'd fall says 20% if more CNC, mass production etc? Baller_ DW Posted March 29, 2023 Baller_ Share Posted March 29, 2023 Congrats on bringing something new to the market, very interested in the weight, it looks light. Whether you like it or not, it would be certainly fun to ski, drive and observe on it. The reach through hand warmers (exhaust manifolds) are cool, nice for those that ski in cool climes. Did anybody notice there are some really interesting cars parked in the background, I wonder what event this was.
