@Horton It's early on the West Coast so, I'll cut you some slack.

A chamfer is a cut on the edge or corner of something that makes it slope slightly rather than being perfectly square.

MasterCraft used to have square platforms but as surfing came into play we began mounting the platforms higher up than we did in the wakeboard days and we started chamfering (or cutting) the corners so that they did not dig into the wake and alter the shape at surf speeds.

Yeah you are correct about the different shape of the swim step. Painful but true. I never really gave it any thought until now.

I went to the California Custom website to look at more pics of the Prostar but was distracted by the $400K boat. So boats are now priced at the level of houses. Wow. (Sorry this is so far off topic -- it was just a significant distraction.)
