Ski design may not have made huge jumps in the last 10 years but that is because it is a pretty mature topic. Somebody needs to get WAY out of the box to move the ball forward very far. 

What I have seen is skis are more consistent. Manufacturing has improved. 

Now roll back 20 years....  and the skis are no doubt way better. It was a huge leap from PU cores to PVC cores and from Glass/Carbon to all Carbon. Goode should get credit for leading the way on the better materials. 

In the early 2000s O'Brien launched the Sixam and then a year or two later HO launched the Monza. I believe these were the first non-Goode skis with current build materials.

Goode started making all carbon skis & light core skis in 1996 ( +/- )
