  1. I've always been more of a ski fast - take chances downhill racer and that definitley shows in my water skiing. In a sport that rewards degrees of failure, it seems like there would be more people just throwing themselves into the next ball in whatever manner was still available to them - in downhill I've got to actually make it to the finish line. (Although sliding accross it on your back is perfectly acceptable)
  2. $200K for a lot? Wow, I think that my FIL paid 69K for a 2 BR townhouse on his 2 course lake in FL.
  3. Chuck P - from Victoria, MN. Been skiing a little since I was 25 (43 now), but just starting to learn the course this year skiing with my FIL and a couple of his ski buddies using their boats. 3 kids 2 in HS and one in college. Currently own a Bayliner 195 which will become a Moomba Outback-V next year. Also a ski racer - Nastar and beer league. The OldJeep comes from a hobby of mine building and offroading jeeps. Currently I've got a couple jeep projects but they are the kids daily drivers, I stopped offroading a couple years ago from lack of interest. http://www.oldjeep.com is my very out of date website which is mostly a parking ground for pictures.
  4. So basically Team USA (with a British captain who used to work for the New Zealand team) beat the New Zealand team? Yup - still don't care about sail boat racing ;)
  5. @Wish - I know people love those things, but they just look like a tugboat compared to a Malibu ;)
  6. Pretty much over. The guys I ski with are snowbirds, so they are already planning their escape to FL. I'm taking the docks and boats that are at my parents place out Sunday. We'll take our boat out for a fall color run in a couple weeks, but that'll be about it for the season.
  7. @Joeprunc - you say that the rope frayed? Did your handle have the ropes sleeved in tubing?
  8. I use one of those with the regular round handle. Love the ends on it, gives your hands a lot more room.
  9. Judging by the mushroom cloud above the ball, I assumed that it got run over.
  10. That broken handle is giving him a couple extra inches ;)
  11. I'd go with - accidentally left the Perfect Pass on, grandpa was using a little bit of throttle and couldn't under stand why there was a beep followed by sudden acceleration .
  12. @ShaneH - The only thing that says 2014 is the shared page header. The text says 2013. Doesn't seem to be any way to navigate to the page you linked either.
  13. Hmm, how about a kid got in and hammered the throttle lever down when the boat was sitting right at the dock.
  14. @Waternut - I want a V drive (Outback V) The true inboard style doesn't work very well as a family boat. Although I'd be curious to see how it does in the course, I get to ski behind an LXI and a 2012 ProStar (next year a 2014)
  15. @ShaneH - page is still there from 2013 - but the home page and the page showing the 2014 lineup is only showing the v-drives? http://www.moomba.com/compare/
  16. @Waternut - I just looked and it looks like 2013 must have been the last year for the inboard. All they are showing now is the 4 v-drives. I'm actually planning on buying an outback V next season.
  17. @Waternut - is Moomba a "real" ski boat manufacturer? They also make a more affordable ski boat.
  18. Be interesting to hear how they get it off of there. Looks like it would be tough to just push it off without running the risk of sinking it.
  19. There are easier ways to get to the prop
  20. @brody - their used boat links are not working for me at the moment either. It was a 98 LX
  21. Local Malibu dealer has a pretty nice looking LX for $17,900 http://www.winboatsweb.com/winboats/minnesota_inboard_water_sports/boatdetail/US-MB2Y4759E898_1998-MALIBU-RESPONSE-LX.html
  22. One more pov shot http://www.oldjeep.com/images/Skiing/vlcsnap-2013-08-13-11h05m43s153.png
  23. @fu_man - this boat doesn't happen to be a Malibu in MN does it?
