  1. Got to try it out this morning on Prior Lake and I really like it. Took a little getting used to since it feels really squirrelly at first compared to the big skis that I have been using. Get to try it out in a course on Tuesday, that should be interesting since I haven't tried that in 5 years and wasn't any good at it then ;)
  2. You need a phone like my Sonim - although it isn't smart enough to run any of these apps ;)
  3. I think the recon stuff is supposed to be fast, average Nastar race is over in 25-35 seconds and they were out at Nationals a couple years ago pushing their goggles. I remember seeing something about it being able to capture a max speed of around 100MPH, but that doesn't really tell you a sample resolution.
  4. Seems like you could adapt some of Recons Ski or cycle products http://www.reconinstruments.com/
  5. Ugly ones, those I have. Couple frames from last weekend
  6. Thanks. I think I'll double check it because even though I said 29.5, I'm finding that some of the things I looked at yesterday said 29.25 and some said 29.5 - now I'm wondering which I actually used. Although my skiing isn't anything to write home about, I want to make sure I'm at least starting out with things in the proper position.
  7. I'd definitely use a tether, but I'd consider running the tether cable to your binding rather than another stick on mount. I use a gopro 2 on my snow racing skis and have managed to knock it off once even with the super 3M adhesive that they use on the mounts. For waterskiing I've just been using a chest mount, haven't had the guts to mount it to the ski.
  8. And one more that has been mentioned previously, but I've got one hanging on my wall. Vogue - beautiful ski that belonged to my wifes uncle. I'd love to try it out but his feet were a lot smaller than mine and I don't want to re-drill it.
  9. Lake Region Products - the guys who actually made cut and jump skis in the 70's. They were based out of Victoria MN about 5 blocks from my place. Their story is here http://www.victoriagazette.com/july2007/page12.html The old water ski factory is now a Moomba/Supra dealer, after being a garden center and a 1/2 dozen other things over the years. Picture of the building as it stands now. http://www.midwestwatersports.com/Default.asp
  10. A visual if it helps. I've currently got it set as close to 29.5 as I could. Radar RTP with a Connelly Sidewinder front
  11. New guy here. My wife picked up a new ski for me and I'm trying to make sure that I get the bindings in a good starting position for the first trip out. I've always had bigger oversized skis (69 KD Powercarve and a 69 OBrien Evidence) in the past. I've found a few things on the web which say that the normal position is right in the middle of the binding mounting options, found another place where it said 29.5" from tail to rear of front boot. Using that measurement puts my bindings as far back as they can go. Thoughts? Hoping to get out Saturday to try it out Thanks
