  1. @SkiJay haha, hopefully! I'm going down having not skied for a month, recovering from a shoulder injury and on a new ski, so my opener should be a sight to see
  2. @SkiJay‌ I know, weather has been phenomenal, But take a look at the extended forecast! Its been my luck a number of times to hit the worst 4-5 days of the month dead on during my trips.
  3. Some great info guys, thanks very much. Ive wanted to ski with brooks for a while ao ill check out The boarding school this time but might have to do another trip next year to swiss, have always wanted to ski there too.
  4. @Edbrazil‌ http://books.google.ca/books?id=lThIZ8y9KSUC&pg=PA46&lpg=PA46&dq=bruce+jenner+waterski&source=bl&ots=7M4m8YlKoF&sig=w7snavIryYcynJ55WVJQBe8F8aw&hl=en&sa=X&ei=nk5QVO-3Ao7fsAS8woCwBA&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q=bruce%20jenner%20waterski&f=false quite the athlete
  5. @skialex I don't know what I like more the wine bottle rack or the collection of ski socks you've got B)
  6. Planning a trip down to Orlando and I need all the help I can get. My last trip my sets got blown out (I still skied), thousands of dollars spent and lots of planning and I didn't walk away with anything but an appreciation for how the best skiers handle rough conditions. Wind was over 25mph every day. So please post up the best protected sites (that the public can ski at) based on wind direction.
  7. Some great stuff here guys, thanks for sharing and keep 'em comin'!
  8. Want to build a rack inside my home (basement) for skis. Looking for simple, attractive and non-permanent solution to getting skis off the ground and against the wall. I've seen some photos of guys ski shops, so post up your ideas and photos of your ski and board rooms.
  9. Is this on lake Ivanhoe? 4 buoy?
  10. I think its called city park or city place in WPB. pretty neat little shopping area worth checking out. Driving up the A1A is cool too
  11. thanks guys. I generally take my skis on the plane in my sportube, but decided to buy a ski online from the US (I'm in Canada) so instead of shipping it home, why not ship it to Otown? I called the hotel I'm staying at and they immediately got back to me that they charge $5 to receive any size package (within reason), but don't want it there more than 3 days before arrival. Works for me!
  12. Hey Ballers, I'm headed down to Orlando in a few weeks and wanted to have a ski shipped. Has anyone every had a ski shipped to either their hotel or a mailbox etc type store? Any recommendations in the Orlando area? thanks,
  13. the TXi is a great ski boat, and definitely the best "family" 3 event boat out there. I think they are left behind in discussion right now because it was more a redesigned Response LXi vs the newer 3 event boats from Nautique, Mastercraft and now Centurion. Its hard to tell the difference from the TXi and LXi when looking at them from a few feet back. I've always liked Malibu's design, layout and versatility. The original Response is still a contender IMO.
  14. Pounding my head against the wall, trying to decide what ski to get. I have difficulty demoing skis so need to rely on recommendations and baseline tests from what I've ridden in the past. I'm currently on a coefficient SL 67. Lasy year I rode and A2 66.5 And took a 1/2 dozen sets late last year on a vapor. I like the coefx but feel its a bit too much work and rolls over a bit too far. What I like about it is how stable and easy to ride it is. In comparison I felt the vapor was more on a train track, easy to ride, less effort but also easy to get lean locked and harder to initiate turns or hammer down when in trouble. Is there a ski that people might feel is a happy medium between these 2? 4@35 is my pb at 34mph Some im considering: Prophecy, S2, A3, quest, mapple 6.0. On a budget so looking for closeouts or lightly used skis. Should i give the vapor another crack? Any other suggestions? .
  15. He has usually ridden a wide body Goode, Tgas edition. Doubt he's on an off the shelf model these days.
  16. @BrennanKMN‌ I have been using the TRX. Suspension straps. Great for skiing and easy to use anywhere.
  17. Hitting dingers at Fenway is different from Wrigley. Baseball even has replay now... Grand Prix in Montreal is a different race than Monaco. I'd love to see someone get into 45' off running 4 buoys vs 3@41 and Nate with 1@43. I've seen that a few times already.............
  18. I'm on a coefficient Superlite, predecessor to the superlite cx. I got on it after not skiing for a year due to a shoulder injury. Was on an A2 last year and the Vapor. I ski at 34. I've got to say the cofx SL is one hell of a ski in the course, very predictable, smooth, fast and stable through 32 off. Open water is very much the same. I prefer it to the A2 I was on actually.
  19. 2015 vapors have removable "lateral stiffeners" in the liners.
  20. I've always skied with a couple different guys on a trip, usually because of timing and where I'm located in FL. I really enjoyed the different perspective, and also the same fundamentals most coaches have you work on (that I still need coaching to do!!!). If I was going for a week I'd probably hit up a couple different sites, not just for the coaching, but also to meet other people in the ski world and ski at different sites. I'm headed down in the fall for 4 days, probably ski 3 days, 2 sets a day and I am thinking I'll probably ski with only 1 guy. Still trying to narrow it down myself... Wind protection, price and site make a big difference for me as most of the Pro coaches are going to give you the advice you need to improve and offer an amazing experience.
  21. Www.ez-slalom.com not worth the time or money getting that old thing going again. Buy new (or used off sia).
  22. @savaiusini‌ I've been on RS1/strada boots with removable liners for 6 years. Every time ive crashed the liners come out and I'm fine. Ive tweaked my ankles on rubber and soft shell fixed liner boots but I'd love to see more in terms of how you would release in a crash in these HOs. They look great.
  23. He was trick training 2 years ago around this time for those senior worlds, so he's probably about right about the timing. I was fortunate enough to roll up on Mapple ski lake just as he and Aiden were about to run a trick set and needed a spotter. pretty cool watching the GOAT feel like a mortal on the short board! My first time meeting the man too.
  24. Stand taller, more weight on your front foot when you get out of the water and through to your turn in for the gates. ARMs STRAIGHT!! It all starts with your gates: When you go to turn in, try to initiate the turn in with your hips vs. Your upper body. Its common to drop your head and shoulder to initiate the turn, so really work on i itiating your turns with your hips vs arms/head. Try to feel the rope tight ionn your outside arm all the way through your pullout and maintain that rope tension through the turn in. Finally when you do go to turn in, let the ski come around more before leaning. Be more progressive with your pull through the wakes. You have a tendency to pull hard off the ball/gate turn in. This will help you build speed and get width in the course. Nice smooth skiing. Hope this helps.
