  1. The new radar vapor boa Amara gloves are very nice. They should be at $90! Only thing I have my eye on
  2. If he is right handed and kicks a ball with his right foot he is regular footed more than likely at age 7. He will likely be regular footed for skate/snow board as well as on a slalom ski.
  3. Great idea not allowing qualified nationals skiers to enter the cash prize. Hopefully gets more skiers out to Nationals
  4. I agree @Stevie Boy to a point regarding soft vs hard cases. I have a sportube 3, it is really the only option for slalom skis out of the 3 models they have. Others won't fit the ski with bindings. One thing to consider with a hard case is many airlines won't cover damage to your gear if it isn't packed in a hardcase. I've traveled with my sportube a dozen or so times and just once coming into MCO did I have an issue (box left open with pin missing as I picked it up on the claim belt - fortunately nothing missing) After that instance I added a bungee and caribeener as backup to the snap ring pin that comes with the sportube. I try to make sure I pack the ski so it's fairly easy to get back inside for TSA, using bungees I tie my vest, rope and gloves to the ski. The airport I typically fly out of either has a auto scan or you pull it out yourself for inspection so I only have to deal with airport staff making a mistake on my way home.
  5. Don't do it. The sequence plate isn't flat on the bottom. Leave the velcro for your shoes
  6. 8 stops around the USA. https://goo.gl/as9nEE Nautique is proud to bring to you a brand-new series of events for 2017 dubbed Nautique Swervin’ Weekends presented by HO Skis, USA Water Ski and AWSA (American Water Ski Association). Designed to expose people to waterskiing in a fun and laid-back environment, this 9-stop event series will visit lakes all around the US and will be pulled by the record-setting Ski Nautique 200. Completely free of charge for all participants that sign up, these USA Water Ski sanctioned events are aimed to bring everyone together to further the growth of waterskiing all around the country. A Nautique pro waterskier will be in attendance at each event to provide tips, help teach newcomers how to waterski and showcase just how much fun waterskiing is. Lunch and snacks will be provided free of charge to all participants, but space is limited for each event so sign up quickly. Support for Nautique Swervin’ Weekends is also brought to us by HO Skis. HO will be on-hand during each event with brand-new gear for everyone to try out and demo. Skis, vests, gloves, ropes, handles and much more will all be made available to make sure everyone can get out on the water and have fun. Not only will HO be providing any gear you’d like to try, but they’re also picking up the bill for your USA Water Ski membership for the day as well. With support from HO, USA Water Ski and the AWSA, the Nautique Swervin’ Weekends is set up to be a free event you won’t want to miss! https://goo.gl/as9nEE
  7. I had messaged them a few weeks back as I was considering a trip to the area. They never got back to me. I believe the cable lakes are operating, but not sure if the boat lake is to the public.
  8. @BCM I don't wear mine at all and never liked wearing rings, to my wife's dismay :) I watched Jimmy Fallon talk about his accident involving his ring finger. I think he was promoting a similar type of rubber ring. http://money.cnn.com/2015/07/14/media/jimmy-fallon-injury-finger/ this was a kitchen accident, not high impact waterskiing. Not to get too off topic, but I have the masteline liners and palm protectors. I only wear them when I am skiing back to back days in Florida water, otherwise I don't tend to need them. best thing I've done is use smaller tightest fitting gloves I can get my hands into, treat my hands with "working hands" moisturizer and use a pumice stone to shave off dead skin after my daily shower.
  9. @skibrain consider yourself lucky. I don't know how anyone does it from a functional standpoint, but the risks are severe (pun intended). There are some photos floating around that should make you think twice.
  10. @Horton thats a mistake. Think about the crossover to skiing... Perhaps some of the keywords get picked up and some dunce PwC rider stumbles on this site? What is the harm in leaving it in the open? Why censor?
  11. @MISkier is your cousin in Michigan and interested in selling his 95 prostar? Assuming it is in good shape I might be interested.
  12. @ThePantsManCan you've rhymed off 4 different skis in 24 hours :)
  13. @ThePantsManCan you sure you want to go down this road?
  14. Boats are a lot wider these days so there is some merit into looking at a wider boat path. Just Imagine all the courses that would have to be changed though... I'd be buying shares into EZ-Ed!
  15. Pretty sure Jmac got bounced around coming into the course at 11 and didnt get the gate approach he wanted. You could see the boat porpoise about as he was pulling out. He doesn't switch up his equipment too often and posted online this winter he was still dialing in his pro build.
  16. @ScarletArrow consider the fact that when you use your arms/hand to support yourself in every day life, would you EVER do so with the back of your hand? I'd think that with palm up it can also rotate your head/shoulders to the inside as you rotate palm up clockwise. thanks for sharing, not something I've noticed with my skiing but going to think about this at some point this year.
  17. I sold my "dummy ski" last year as it was just collecting dust and was offered a good price for it. I now realize I need to replace it for this season so when she looks in the "ski room", still sees a ski and doesn't think twice about all the hard work you're putting in at the office when I cut out early to hit the lake. Don't forget to leave your old vest, rope, and gloves hanging nearby as well.
  18. I hang my gear in my furnace room. Dries super fast and no mold or odors.
  19. how Kuno is still involved in this sport is the most amazing thing. I'll never forget seeing his frowning face being escorted all over the pan-am park in Toronto during the finals. Like he was the last king of scotland. Totally ridiculous again Kudos to Steve Garcia for sharing and being so blunt. I'm not sure I agree with his approach because it likely wont get him any further ahead but things need to change.
  20. They have a go fund me page for the fines, so they should be covered; totally viral!! My 2 favorite sports Cops have ticketed wateskipping sleds on youtube up here (Ontario) in the past. probably complaints from locals and a deterrent for others to do it again. The fines should be well worth it!! great stunt!
  21. @rich any way to connect with them for some sets? I will be in the area in a few weeks. sounds like you're than man in the desert @eleeski ! would be nice to meet you as well, planning a trip next month.
  22. @Triplett @MISkier ditto. One of the biggest eye openers for me in this sport as well, big props to Jodi!
  23. Canadian rules allow a skier to opt DOWN a division or up in the case of youth (to ski at a faster speed). @dirt said if a skier wants a faster speed let them go down to the division that can accommodate them. We do need to allow for more skiers to ski tournaments especially at the younger ages where going 34 or 36 is too fast for many youngsters. I would hurt myself at 36, was always too fast for me to have fun so I didn't get into tournaments until I was 35! This is an issue in our sport but I feel this is the wrong move when it essentially only applies to the most prestigious events.
  24. There is also the boarding school. Probably closest public for hire site. Easily one of the best sites anywhere
