  1. Some skis just work better than others in cold water, stock settings. Usually better in rough/choppy, public lake courses also. My personal findings.
  2. Pylon ok. I’ll try and post some pics, the weather is just crappy and the rope is in my boat. Until then…. Thanks for all the responses and ideas!
  3. No, it doesn't. Again, new this season with under 40 sets on it. Just melted on the inside of the loop and not frayed at all, perfect otherwise. It's like there should be some kind of lubricant to reduce friction and heat but I don't know what to use or maybe some sort of bushing or liner between the pilon and the rope like the newer boats have.
  4. Not looping it through itself, thanks for the 15 off offer but I'm in Canada eh? Adding a loop or more rope doesn't solve the problem. No burs or anything on the pilon. One thing I did notice last time out is that the webbing from the shock tube, which is usually between the rope and the pilon was not and I could feel the rope moving. The shock tube is ancient and I can't believe it's still in one piece, an H2Osmosis item from Trophy Lakes.
  5. New Optimized 2.0 this year with under 40 sets. I wish I could go shorter and I would like a new boat but grateful that I have this one. Does anyone make a pilon "pilon bushing" that I can retro fit?
  6. What are you using to prevent the rope melting from the pilon on older boats that don't have the swivel thingy that prevents friction. We have used wax and soap but my rope looks really bad even with that.
  7. Well.....that is big news! Bout time too! The thought of those bungees makes my knees and ankles quiver, it's just human nature to crank them as tight as possible. I was guilty of it myself and have seen the injuries from not releasing properly. Yes, it's the fault of the user for sure but the REFLEX release is pretty fool proof once you get them dialed in.
  8. Is it a new hard shell or just an update? Looks like same old bungee lace from the one pic.
  9. 2018 VAPOR Pro Build, 66", Mint colour and condition. Not a lot of use, $800.00 you pay the shipping, I have the box still. Located close to the Ontario/Manitoba border.
  10. Go to school, such a cool experience. Make a holiday of it and have fun.
  11. Yes, apparently the day starts a little later for them and not 12:01. It sounds really good from the video, totally new ski not just minor changes. My wallet is vibrating!
  12. No issues, my only regret was not getting it done sooner.
  13. I have a bunch of little nicks in my boat, the previous owner let his dogs ride in the boat. There used to be some liquid stuff that didn't really look that good but kinda sealed things up and prevented more damage but I haven't seen it in years.
  14. Beautiful! Where in Minnesota?
  15. 7Celcius here this morning, the wind has been blowing since April, not the best season start!
  16. HUH! Is that the same binding Cole is using? Have we come full circle?
  17. Hop on a plane, probably stroll right into Toronto.
  18. The carbon plate will deteriorate over time and will need to be replaced, I switched to the G10, or whatever it is. I know it's a MASSIVE increase in weight but...no more problems. Maybe that carbon plate flexes or even compress between the screw and loop?
  19. I use blue loc-tite with no issues so far, maybe the water weakened the loc-tite? Always ck. your gear!
  20. Anyone experiment with this? I am LFF with VAPOR liners with the RADAR footbeds that come with them. I seem to have a high arch on my left foot, It's really noticeable when I am standing on the platform but not sure if it affects my skiing at all. should I try and lift the arch, put something underneath, or raise the outside of my foot to try and push the arch down? I spoke with a couple ortho places and they had little to offer.
  21. FWIW, do all maintenance and repairs in the fall/winter and when the spring hits, it's go time!
  22. Camaro and Stokes do not exist in Canada as far as I know. The O'Neill stuff is great, you won't be disappointed. Shuswap=#1
  23. Bite the bullet? This winter I ordered a pair of the Camaro shorts from the U.S. They were $60.00 or so but by the time it was all done with exchange, duty, shipping and whatever else you can think of, it was $200.00 CDN. RIDICULOUS!
  24. It is strange that manufacturers haven't created a flat spot to measure from on all skis if this is the standard way to measure. Maybe it's coming?
