    I have built them with and with out carbon exposed. Many, myself included, do not care much to see carbon fiber. After working with it every day for years it becomes boring. The favorite look was when we did a micro thin paper back north american cherry veneer on top with a laser burnt in logo...Old School.

    @Horton Is there info on the Caldwell ski anywhere? Most of these have very nice carbon fiber work displayed top and bottom.....

    Ultimate Ski Lake is in the area. You might look them up and throw some money at someone to pull you a few sets. Try Ruth McBride she pretty well owns the place.

    Yes it sounds like most skate boots you can heat the whole boot or like I mentioned fix the given spot.

    Keep the gun moving, it will heat through the leather. Don't heat inside if there is fleece lining. Otherwise I compress the foam. It may be enough to give relief.

    Canting a boot will change how the ski responds to pressure from the foot/leg.....I did LOTS of research and testing on canting. So what is cured by canting may cause other problems. If you like the way it is skiing and don't want to change it heat molding the boot away from the foot is the only true fix.

    You need a heat gun. You will have to move that part away from the foot. It is not easy. Keep the heat gun moving at all times. Heat inside and out mostly outside. The Carbon has to get pretty damn hot. I use a C-Clamp, a rock and a wash cloth folded as many times a possible. Put the wash cloth on the outside, put the rock on the inside and use the 4" c-clamp to smash the rock into the carbon, and into the wash cloth. Let cool. Repeat if necessary.....

    The problem is where they are made peoples hands are smaller.

    I am adding an extra 1" of Velco to mine. ALL my HO gloves back to the original Talons have that issue to some degree. These are no exception..

    I got a set from Perf. They appear to be very nice. Won' t know until the lake thaws....I believe they look more like the old Talon, which seems like that was the glove the Tail was based on?

    @mlusa Thanks for the bump on the head guards but due to possible patent infringement I decided to focus spare time on the custom boots and plates, and a couple of new barefoot projects.

    Going to test the new A3 today 12/28/2013 water temp 43ish air temp 50ish. Great to have the Sanger Outboard Barefoot so I don't have to winterize. This will be my 3rd time in the Dry suit. I really don't like it. It makes me a little claustrophobic.

    I like the fact that my head can not fit through the triangle on the 12". No need for a no noose. I put one on anyhow to see what it looks. It is also strung with spectra so I can use it for barefoot jump. Plus it floats.

    Placed order in Sept after a month I called and talked to Randy once a week or so until it showed up. I know he make mega barefoot handles for WBC so I am sure he is going to stay backed up. Well worth custom work wait.....
