  1. @foxriverat Don't remember a Dave Hoff from the lake... Thanks for the compliments on the lawn gang. You guys made my Dad's day. He takes lawn care to the next level...
  2. Thanks for the offer, but Minnesota's a bit of a drive from Bass Lake...
  3. To the water we go before the ramps get to busy next weekend. 2005 196 Team 6.0
  4. @Horton I don't have enough hair for that.
  5. @jdk99 I venture to guess that shoreline slalom skiers accounted for a small percentage of the injured skiers sampled. Consistently crossing the wakes at 50+ mph (just guessing at the speed) does significantly increase the risk of head injury. Overall, IMHO "I don't want to wear a helmet" is just plain foolish if given a properly engineered protection option. Although an extreme comparison, I've known to many people who have said the same thing before having their brain roll down the street shortly after climbing on their motorcycle. Sounds like a nice little niche opportunity for a helmet manufacture...
  6. If a properly slalom helmet would be designed, I'd wear one in a heartbeat. I'm surprised that one has not been developed and mandated for competition. That water can be really hard...
  7. @horton Not this season for me, but I'm a believer in promo programs. Best way to get a fair price on a properly dialed in piece.
  8. Go all orange with black stripes and a 409. Orange is beautiful on the water.
  9. @Kelvin So the correct answer is?
  10. From looking at the picture and knowing nothing about the ski, here's my guess. 1. The slot for the fin cuts clear though the back of the ski. 2. The fin is attached to the ski in front of the fin. 3. This would allow the back sides of the ski to flex independently of each other on each side of the fin. Knowing nothing about fluid dynamics, I guess that in a turn and crossing the wakes: 1. The pressure on the side of the fin that is either on the outside of the turn or towards the boat when crossing the wakes is higher than the opposite side. 2. Since the back sides of the ski (on each side of the fin) can flex independently of each other. The side of the ski with higher pressure will flex upwards and the side of the ski with lower pressure will flex downwards. 3. Thus the back end of the ski will naturally rotate in the same direction that the skier is initiating an edge change or lean. Because of this the ski will (so to speak) naturally rotate and allow easier turns around the buoy and increased angle across the wakes. . Am I close or all wet?
  11. Another. https://onlyinboards.com/1997-Ski-Nautique-for-sale-Branchville-New-Jersey-49275.aspx
  12. Cool...will you take my Connelly Wake Special as an even trade. Never cleaned the bottom, but its all good.
  13. @oldjeep small world indeed. Us northerners don't have a long season but we do have nice options for low hour boats. That one looks really nice, asking top dollar and will need speed control though...
  14. Nice 1999 Nautique. Less than 400 hours!! boattrader.com/listing/1999-Correct-Craft-Ski-Nautique-196-652011
  15. 450hrs http://www.ebay.com/itm/2000-Correct-Craft-Ski-Nautique-Open-Bow-GREAT-CONDITION-/131488127274?forcerrptr=true&hash=item1e9d4d992a&item=131488127274
  16. @Skigirl Did you happen to try the new tx also? Just wondering if you have first hand knowledge between the two.
  17. @otf Oops, that come out wrong, guess I should pay closer attention to how I word posts... Thanks for the feedback guys, lots of good options here. HO Free Ride sounds like it may be a safe bet.
  18. @oldjeep Agreed, it is pretty crazy and does not quite add up.
  19. Hi Gang, Considering something for my lovely wife. I've got an old school Connelly Wake Special in the arsinal or am I better off purchasing one of the new variety of free skis? Here's the facts: -She knows how to slalom although its been many moons. -She's stubborn and does not want to drop one to get back in the grove, she wants to "just" get up. -She has nagging (minor, but big to her) issues with one of her knees. -She does not have any interest in the course for the foreseeable future and will ski a low speeds. -Most importantly, me and the kids really really need this to go well! Thanks, Matt
  20. Through the years I've seen that budget is extremely relative. What sounds like an out of site expensive slalom boat to most is literally chump change to some... Heck, they are selling 100k++ wakeboard boats by the dozens to families that are turning them over to their teenagers.
  21. @argonaut sounds like perfect place to ride one of these. http:/mahaskis.com/fastback.php
  22. Sold our SN and bought a new PS back in 1991. PS skied great, but the build quality was way off that of a SN. Vowed not to stray away from SN again. Many moons ago, but thats been my experience.
