  1. @foxriverat I actually use the rope as part of the clamping system I will take a pic later and post it
  2. @foxriverat I have the same type setup and it works awesome!!!
  3. Not to hijack this thread, but I skied for the first time this year a couple weeks ago, and I'm finding myself using good stack only when I need too if that makes any sense. This was the first time I skied since last august which was a coach session with Breanne Dodd, I remembered and applied everything she said and in all honesty I exceeded my own expectations, I found that I was super early, but not excessively wide throughout the whole set. Was nice and wide on the gates skiing 15 off @32mph. So how do I force myself to maintain that stack all the time more so then when I need to? Also made a binding change and felt better then I have in 5 years on my previous setup.
  4. Proud dad moment, my oldest falling in love with the sport getting some coaching from Breanne, and a little blowout for me at 5ball.
  5. @Drago I skied on a wood taperflex in the late 80's, probably got thrown in the garbage for all I know. I was a die hard Kidder redline kid back then. Wouldn't have known any better. Also had a mint jobe honeycomb.
  6. Throw an extra life jacket out at the same time they drop the ski. Usually end up very close together
  7. Maybe I missed the boat on this one, but how about Aaron Larkin?
  8. 19 years and over 1000 hours..... if you are using a stock replacement head, I would run it. And if your concerned about clearance run a thicker head gasket.
  9. Learned by dragging a leg, managed to pull my groin on back leg a couple times, (going when wasn't really ready and too dumb to let go) made the switch to 2 feet in, then been double boots for the last 20+ years.
  10. @aspski I wouldn't think there would be one on sylvan, plus with the boat traffic there im guessing it would be tough to use one and even maintain one. Gull is difficult and there isn't near as many people on it.
  11. @MS there is no such thing as being a water snob here in good ol Alberta, if it's calm and deep enough to ski, you take it...lol I remember skiing in 4" of blue green algae back in the day on isle.
  12. 2-3 inches of rain and wind gusts to 60+ mph yesterday....snow in the western parts. 29* or around 80f Tuesday.... good old Alberta. Hope my dock survived yesterday!
  13. @Justin @Billbert, Grew up skiing on isle, actually learned there, My family had a cabin there for about 18 years. Slowly stopped using after the weed cutting by law around 2000ish? Bought a new 08 vtx and went out for a cruise in mid summer. When it took 2 hrs to clean my boat I haven't been back. Tons of awesome memories and always some calm water to be found around the islands. Have since moved to gull, more people and harder to find good water, but with a good buddy like @schafer just 5 min away there is always good potential!
  14. These skiers are far too passionate about the sport to just make it about money. I'm sure it adds incentive but not much more then that.
  15. Without sounding overly Canadian, Nate is literally the Wayne Gretzky of waterskiing no doubt About it!! CP is on his game too, after the layoff he had he's skiing exceptional.
  16. I've had my course cut numerous times, lost my 55 gate all together, had seadoo'ers enter the course in mid ski, you name it. Have never had an encounter with anyone, try to put our course "off the beaten path" nothing works. So onto finding a pothole lake close to home to setup on, now having to deal with unrealistic landowners, compounded with the government environmental people. She's a no win situation. Let's just say the next spot I find will work on the premise " it's easier to beg for forgiveness then to ask for permission "
  17. In my recent experience, although I had the plastic bunks for the past 6 years with no issues, this past summer was exceptionally windy and rainy the plastic bunks cost me $4000 or so in damages, just enough movement from the wind and the cradle moving around wore holes in the bottom of my vtx. And before anyone asks, yes it was maxed out for height out of the water, long story short I will be changing to carpet.... About 8 of these beauties on the bottom...
  18. Maybe a bit off track here, but you could be sitting on a gold mine!! Just think if he could run any pass any foot forward.... Lol.

    carpet

I hear that amway bubble bath is good too.
  20. How about a team event, have an elite captain ( or equivalent/similar ) every team requires a skier of a certain level or handicap (like golf) if you will, every team requires a man, women, and child. Hold a draft to choose teams, greatest total buoy count wins. Throw a jumper and tricker into the mix on each team Run it on a points system
  21. @Jody_Seal I don't envy your having to deal with things like that. I would have to tell the owners what kind of morons they are...( after I'd been paid in full of course )... Im sure you get to see your share of pristine boats too though.
  22. Been in the mid -20's here for a week now, wind chills into the upper -30's and a boat load of snow.. No pun intended
