  1. Have a friend looking at direct drives, just asked me about the centurion t5, I'm not familiar with them. It's a 2005 looks to be in good condition. Are they a decent ski boat?
  2. I see now looking back at some of my videos I am compressed or broke at the waist going into the turn and trying to pull up straight after, not much but it's definitely worse on my off side.
  3. 1 fat sack and the wedge would suffice, I know guys who surf with just the wedge itself which is equivalent to 1250lb behind an lxi
  4. Spray nine then a good treatment of mothers
  5. @UWSkier @Horton I tend to not counter much at all.... I keep thinking there is one thing that will be a lightbulb moment saying " that's it you idiot...."
  6. If there was one piece of advice or one hint that could be given that helped you lock into solid stack all the time what would it be? Some days it's there for me, but most days not, And I sure find when I get it, im not working nearly as hard.
  7. I'm just a weekend warrior, but I believe simple things like keeping your hands down, slight bend of your forward knee/ pressure and standing proud for lack of better words, will help. As a free skier for a lot of years and skiing with lots of same type guys I notice that they want to ride the back of the ski, skiing slower and deeper in the water, kind of a security blanket, i sometimes find myself doing this, I look at it like I don't trust my ski to hold the edge in the turns when in fact it turns way better and faster.
  8. I had struggled with this in the past and with a slight adjustment of binding and changing my body position it was resolved fairly quick, and they weren't uncomfortable changes just simple. I always thought I was standing straight and level over my ski when in fact I wasn't.
  9. Sustainable resources stocked a number of lakes in Alberta in the early 80's with small mouth and they didn't survive, we could sneak some pike or perch over that way though..... ;) you'd have to keep it on the DL though, you wouldn't be very popular with the resource officer
  10. What about a cable camera overhead like at a football game? Or even a well positioned drone gives the perfect aspect for judging would it not?
  11. Idk how many of these you guys would want or have to eat but up here in Alberta this is what our freshwater shrimp consist of.... And the "beaver fever" comes as an added bonus 2-4 hours after consumption.... Lol
  12. For the cost of a new long block these days whether it be GM performance or ford Motorsport you can hardly justify salvaging anything, if your manifolds and other accessories are good yet that might be your best bet. By the time you spend the money to fix and freshen up the existing engine you will have spent as much or prob more then a new replacement. Plus you would be getting some warranty on a new one.
  13. @UWSkier I had a mount that came with my go pro, was a base with a string tie on each side, mounted it on top my ski pole, ( Malibu ) and then the ski rope doubles the clamping motion, took awesome video when free skiing, I will see if I can find a video to post.
  14. @oldjeep I actually fell victim to that shifter issue on my 08 vtx about 3 miles from the launch, storm approaching, dealer closed that day, (had reverse) finally found how to bypass the electric shift in the manual, which keeps the boat always in gear even when you turn over the engine, makes for an interesting experience to load. The dealer actually went through 4 or 5 shifters before the tech found one he liked. @rfa from personal experience, if the prop isn't perfectly balanced it will cause vibration, and it doesn't take very much (1/4 oz )
  15. Ice went out at the lake the other day in a nasty windstorm. That's the community Dock which is about 10ft tall at the end the ice destroyed. Looks like I have some work to do.. the dock was removed and probably up 40ft from the shoreline
  16. My sister showed me an organic roundup that she found online, 1 gallon white vinegar, 2 cups salt, 1/4 cup dawn dish detergent. Works unbelievably well. I am a farmer and deal with weeds and chemical all the time, and for around the yard, you can't beat this stuff!!
  17. we have a "community" dock of about 6 guys. We install and remove 6 lifts every year and I have saw about every brand there is with the exception of floe (which I think are very nice) I run a shoremaster 5000lb 12v wireless and love it, light/strong construction easy to handle. Shorestation are really nice but def a bit heavier, with the electric over hydraulic they are outstanding. Hewitts are nice but extremely heavy which makes them hard to handle. I would highly suggest vertical over a cantilever. We float these lifts probably close to 1/8 mile every year to install them and we use the floe "float and roll" system to do so.
  18. Cold water, cool air, smells like a pig farm = just like skiing in Alberta on any given day.
  19. There is no better music to the ears then the sound of a 300+ horsepower v8..
  20. I am kinda ocd about little things like that, I just spent all this money on a ski and if I put as much as a knick in it trying to take a sticker off I would kick my own ass. @Horton do the BOS stickers come with any extra buoy guarantee?
  21. Not that it applies but I have guaranteed replacement, uninsured boater, 2 million liability, and a list of other stuff that I can't remember on my policy, I pay $1000 a year and obviously up here we only get 5-6 months use..... :s
  22. I would have stayed skiing the course and taken the opportunities offered instead of taking time away from skiing to rodeo, and other silly things. Didn't realize what I was missing till I got back into it after 5 or 6 years away from it. Now having my kids enthusiastic about the sport, getting to spend that extra time with them doing what we love.
  23. Man he's aggressive. https://instagram.com/p/BBlUTF1Eo1E/
  24. @MattP he's definitely one of the more aggressive guys out there. One can always live vicariously. Easier on the body that way.
