  1. Heat is your friend! Even a heat gun will work. The brass has an extremely high thermal conductivity so it will probably take more then you think. Careful the whole thing will be hot!
  2. How about one just for the kids? " I am the future so my parents don't let me wakeboard"
  3. I Wakeboarded for a bit, fancied myself pretty damn good until this one little crash that give me a concussion. 27 years of hockey, about the same on a slalom ski, never a problem, 1/2 dozen times on a wakeboard and whamo. Lucky for me my kids were first hand witnesses to my misfortune therefore no Wakeboards occupy my boat... Hahaha cost me a few days work and a bit of a headache but has saved me long term.
  4. 500 sets!!! At an average of 10 sets a year I should be good till I'm...... Well dead I guess.
  5. Unfortunately I don't get much time on the water with the weather we endure here in alberta along with many other variables, hoping the wind lays off this year and with the price of oil I'm sure work won't be an excuse. It's still a solid 6 weeks till we will be on the water. Hoping to not be too rusty and get right back where I left off and into 28 early this year.
  6. Just curious as to what is the most new line lengths you have ran through in a season? What would be a realistic goal to set? 1 or 2 new lengths or 2 - 3? More even? I personally have about 1 1/2, meaning I've been through 22 @34mph not really consistently but I would ultimately love to get through 28 this year. Anyone had one of those rare occurrences where something just clicked and you smoked through a bunch of lengths?
  7. I'm RFF and RPU, couldn't change that I don't think, I never really thought that it could make a difference. Well my day isn't wasted now I lean red something new.
  8. Just having the name freddy Krueger makes him intimidating. Fear the nightmare!!
  9. "Ya know dad it's pretty shiny but it's definitely no Radar..."
  10. It's still close to 2 months till we will be on the water full time. I'm actually looking forward to the soreness
  11. Stayed at the lake buena vista resort, it was great and really affordable. Matt Rini has a deal with that hotel if you ski at his school so I agree with @skierjp to ask Andy if he has anything set up with the hotels around.
  12. You will prob have to have the BOS and original title at the border that it will be crossing at 72hrs in advance, then they will apply any applicable taxes at that point. As well as whatever form of licence/transport plates and or docs in order. These are the steps that are required for import from US to canada, I'm sure if you look into hiring a broker I'm sure for a reasonable fee they will take care of everything for a nominal fee and the unit will prob be delivered to your driveway by the transport company. I payed a broker $1500 to bring me a GMC dually diesel from Decatur Texas to central alberta. Cheap price to pay to avoid all the headaches
  13. Floe has the easy leveling system too where you just use a cordless drill on a gear drive on the legs, no lifting and trying to tighten jam bolts up and whatever. There is another dock system where you start your first section on shore and work your way out never having to get in the water, the brackets quick attach to each other, and flop the section forward, can't remember the name but I do know it wasn't cheap.
  14. Floe is def the Cadillac of docks no question. We use costco dock and it has been ok for the most part and even though it's 6 or 7 years old we have no trouble getting warranty parts for it.
  15. watched ed fisher at wildhorse pass in phoenix last Easter Run 22 off @30mph and he was turning 80.
  16. I managed 6 sets all of last year... Pathetic.
  17. Short light jog and major back stretches, I repeatedly bend the exact same direction 100's of times a day, and skiing works the muscles opposite of that , a couple years ago I learned that stretching is beneficial after a week off work and multiple trips to the massage therapist and the chiro..
  18. @susanm1ski unfortunately I'm not sure of any way to prevent vandalism, seems like for every 1 guy with respect, there are 3 that don't, our lake gets quite busy so I'm sure this will be ongoing until we too locate a pothole close by to ski In. Good luck!!
  19. EZ for sure!! I've had one for a couple years and it's great held up through a couple days of 25-30mph winds and 4ft whitecaps. Other then being cut by fishermen 3 times it's awesome. Mine needs 8ft or more to float accurately. @Ed_Obermeier the last time it was cut they either took or we lost our 55 gate, I was wondering if you could pass on the dimensions of the pipe and ropes so we can replace ours? Thanks
  20. Muscle care roll on. Tylenol, stretch. I know I tell myself every year, I'm going to take it easy first time out, and it feels good so I ski like an idiot and I don't know about most but I get so bloody sore I can hardly even pick up a glass of water, and try to go to work like that. Usually last 7-10 days then I'm good for the year.
  21. Ya no thanks I'm good. I would rather deal with a bear or cougar or wolf then that.. I've dealt with rodeo rough stock, 2300lb bulls, horses etc in close quarters but a snake or gator or any size type of reptile, this guy is gone!! Sheesh!!
  22. Open water found in alberta!!.. Or should I say oilberta
