  1. @Horton‌, I meant that as I understand the worlds every 2 years, and I am a 100% advocate for waterskiing in the Olympics, hence my previous response, an act of haste if you will. I'm not entirely up on the complete details as why it's not recognized, but I completely understand as to why it should be. Not trying to make myself look ignorant to the topic, just thinking out loud.
  2. @Horton‌ touché. Just the thought of one more big time, world class tourney as a why not, the Olympics don't know what they are missing in your face type thing. Not that it's going to make that point with the Olympic committee.
  3. Sounds like an opportunity for an Olympic style waterski tournament, held every 4 years at different venues across the world, where the host facility has to apply and win the lottery. A 3 event tourney with your typical gold/silver/bronze prizes for every age group/ski rating. If they won't give the opportunity for these athletes to compete, let's make the opportunity. Maybe an ambitious idea but I think it would make for a hell of a tournament to watch.
  4. Always look back to admire your spray, it's way bigger then you think!
  5. I'm not sure if it was one of the pros or the parents there of, but Im sure I overheard someone say at the Mastercraft shootout that both Nate and CP have successfully turned 3 at their respective practice sites. No question in my mind that in this next 12 months it will go down, what's your thoughts on the ladies? Will a full 41 go down? I don't think we are far from that either.
  6. I am a 34 mph skier, my PB is running 22 off, I don't get to ski much but with each set I am able to get in, I focus on 1 detail, not so much focusing on always running the pass as getting that 1 detail down, sometimes it takes a 2 or 3 sets to get that, generally when I get it I will also run the pass, I tend to be very critical of myself, but without lots of ski time it's tough to get good. My goal is to get good, consistent and have all the technicalities worked out before going shorter. I kind of go by the same theory as people in my same work profession, you get good then you get fast (or short if you will). As @Swini‌ says "ski more"!!
  7. I have never had an issue, I wrap my ski in a blanket inside the sport tube then pack my towels and life jacket and all my gear in there.
  8. I personally use a shore master, electric/vertical extremely light and has been a great lift, I do like the electric over hydraulic shore stations, but the best lift on the market hands down right now is the Floe, the have the best leveling system, electric over hydraulic lift, very light.. Check them out!
  9. I have focused on perfecting my 15 & 22 @34mph‌, wanting to dive into 28 but not until I've ironed out all the bugs. I keep asking @Swini‌ questions and his answer is consistently "ski MORE" So I agree that quality coaching and quantity ski time things could move along as quick as you want them to, pending physicality, I've been stuck at these lengths for 2 1/2 years but I have only managed and average of 8 sets a year which is obviously not enough.
  10. Just consider this your new therapy group, once you dive into the course you will officially be addicted! And with most addictions you will need some help to get by... Welcome to BOS
  11. I think I've watched just about every video by every pro on the internet that is available, I def will be studying these latest few of TW, he is one of the first I started studying when I decided to take up the course again at 35yrs old, spent a considerable amount of time over 3 days in Calgary with TW just shootin the breeze, talk about a down to earth guy ! Would live to rip a few coaching sets with him. Stish and Rossi have some 34 mph stuff out there too
  12. TW is crazy smooth! I tend to catch a bit of air at that 15/22 mark, I thought it was just me and bad position... Towards the end of our season here I was finally getting my "stack" dialed in and able to ski early which I have not done a whole lot and it threw me for a loop, it's what you want ideally, but when it was there it played mind games with me..... Wow I have tons of time to make this... Oh crap now I'm late. I was getting used to scrapping my way through all the time.
  13. When I was about 15, which now seems like an eternity ago, I was just taking up the course, learning by trial and error on a public course by our summer cabin. I remember center punching the 3 ball and going down hard, I popped up to surface, looked around and couldn't see my ski, just then like a scene from looney tunes when Wiley coyote looks up and sees the anvil falling, I looked up and there was my kidder falling from the sky and wham right dead center of the forehead.....ended the day with a hell of a gash and a bigger goose egg.
  14. I would prob throw @Horton‌ on the list. I'm guessing he could teach you a little about all the skiers. Just the impression I get.. And from a brief encounter during the debut of the new prostar in Calgary seems like an interesting insightful guy. And he likes spiced rum..
  15. I think Andy Mapple, to ski at the level he is still at this age is like... Or now with my new found hero in Jeff Rodgers, would be cool to have a couple coronas and learn some more. There are so many greats out there it's tough to pick. I have been fortunate to meet quite a few of the big names between Florida and Calgary, they all are great guys, love to talk about the sport, no matter what level your at. I'd like to see anyone walk up to Patrick Kane or Tiger woods and talk their respective sports.... Not a chance. I spoke to TW quite a bit over 3 days in Calgary, he is a great person, really down to earth guy!
  16. TW is sick.. So technical with every aspect. And a super down to earth guy to boot.
  17. I'm not a member anywhere but I have payed $55 -$70 per set
  18. @RazorRoss3‌ your spot on with the not skiing with bent arms, just one of the bad habits I'm trying to shake, I know that a proper "stack" can take a lot of the unnecessary load off your body. I usually feel pretty good as a whole, just suffer from unforgiving arms for the first few sets, and they usually take a week to loosen up after
  19. I'm looking for a good arm workout for the off season. I'm planning to hit a school over our dreaded Canadian winter. I am tired of going out for the first few sets of the year and fighting the soreness on the inside of the arms. (Not being able to straighten, feels like a rope from wrist to upper bicep, inner elbowish) I would like to be fully prepared for it to maximize my ski time. Thanks!
  20. Was never my intention for this thread to blow up quite like it did, I was simply looking for a couple sets somewhere, and was graciously offered just that by a few people in the phx area. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control I wasn't ae to take my ski this time around, I understand haveing no invested interest in property for some can be an issue for some, but there are still those beauties that are all game to share the love of the sport with a brother, and that is worth whatever anyone is willing to pay, be it time, money, beer,Kilo Kai ( which I couldn't find in AZ btw. I'm sure I can speak for most of us northern folk when I say any ski time is priceless.
  21. I'm going to be honest and I hope you all don't rip me too bad, I am very familiar with the name Jeff Rodgers, but that is all I was familiar with, therefore I made up my mind after reading this thread that I was missing something incredible, so I have devoted the better part of my day to educating myself on the legend of Jeff Rodgers, and what an education it was! Incredible! I'm pretty sure Jeff Rodgers uses Mobil 1 in his cereal and drinks 110 octane for breakfast.
  22. Grew up skiing on a couple of planks then graduated to kidder, and a jobe honeycomb. I remember the first time I used a ski with a tapered bottom! It was life changing! Lol
  23. Rossi told me Swiss is usually good when it's windy
  24. Knees in (like really in),arms out, and knees together, I know if I'm tired and lazy and let one of my knees separate one way or another it can be tough to pull out of it, acting like a rudder of course, and I concur with @Razorskier1‌ with the one foot start, hips up arms straight should settle out the speed wobble
