  1. Leaning toward wiring also, check rub points on PCM harness and visible arc burns, I had a duramax with the same problem, $2500 in labour only to find the injector harness rubbing on a bracket (myself).. A bit of RTV silicone and a piece of rubber.... Problem solved
  2. I'm tellin ya the float and roll is so easy, and you can do it alone if you had to, yes is is a bit of money up front but IMO it will last forever and you can adapt it to any lift if you had any sort of a brain, not to mention you could recoup some expenses with neighbors or friends that need a lift spotted, we did the tubes and barrels and windsurf boards, this thing requires no liftin or nothing just float it and set it with no hassle
  3. Myself and a group of buddies bought the ( float and roll ) by floe and that unit works awesome!! We made a couple adjustments to it and we use it on shore station, shoremaster, cantilever, Hewitt, 3 guys can set 6 lifts In 3 hours and that's towing them a good 500 yards to our spot! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7-S71i1bvU
  4. I've paid up to $75 a set. I do pay $65 on a regular basis. Here in alberta nothing is cheap so I kinda just look at it like this..... Professional driver... Private world class lake to yourself... Worlds best towboat... And some coaching from a very well established skier. All for $65 To me that is a hell of a deal, considering where I'm from $65 would just get you 24 beer with barely enough change for a Big Mac. When comparing to golf, or downhill skiing, hell even for my daughters to dance competitive is 10G a year! You can't put a price on that feeling you get when your bustin glass and chasin buoys as far as I'm concerned
  5. @Moggie‌ from what I understand you are physically traveling faster as you sit higher in the the water do to the viscosity. To me it feels crazy fast compared to freshwater
  6. Skied saltwater once, took about 3 sets in freshwater to get everything rinsed out, that's even after I washed it right after. And skiing in saltwater I found feels crazy faster then freshwater. I knew it was going to be different but didn't think that noticeable
  7. I'm not good enough to give any advice, but for myself I always go into my sets playing it safe, and by the time I feel ready to shorten up The rope I'm worn out. So is it good practice to run a pass you know you can run, then change your focus to the next length you want to be at, or will that backfire and get you into bad habits?
  8. 3 of my idols growing up; Beauchesne, Ross, Roberge.
  9. skied a week with matt spring of 13, had a great time, great facility and couldnt ask for a better coach, met most of the radar skiers while down there, some real solid down to earth good all around people, matt has dicounted rates at a hotel in the area not to mention a discount at perf ski while attending his school...
  10. masterline rope/ radar handle, my fat fingers posted the wrong vote.... Ya win some ya lose some I guess
  11. I too am from the cold north and if there is 1 good thing about it, is that there are no bleeping snakes ( maybe the odd garter snake ) but in my book the only good snake is a dead one....... i have had a muskrat or 2 crawl up the hole into my icefishing shack, usually makes for an interesting encounter.
  12. I sure appreciate the responses, looks like my bucket list of places to ski is getting longer by the day, I'm committed to this phx trip now, but looking for somewhere potentially in March/April ish. This is exactly what I'm talking about,'it's about skiing and getting people on the water and having a good time. The sport needs exposure and appreciation which in my mind lacks severely, especially up north here! Cheers everyone
  13. Getting back to my comment earlier, I didn't know how it would be received but now I'm pretty sure, from my perspective and meeting many of the elites, being to Florida etc, even @Horton‌ himself, it doesn't matter what level of skier you are, it's just the exposure to the sport, good, bad or indifferent It's great to watch people ski and just have that common thread of interest, I have only personally ran into private lake, no public/non members type thing a few times, but for the most part people are very welcoming to those who are into the sport. Like I said before, having no invested interest In these places I understand, but from my perspective that shutout mentality from Certain places seems odd. That being said, coming from Alberta and not having the year round climate and opportunity like the warmer states do, its a mentality to ski as much as often as you can and do what you can to expose the sport and give opportunity when you can. Long story short, we all want to ski as much as possible on the most pristine lakes we can when the opportunity is given.
  14. It would seem as though the people of spring mountain has an untapped resource right in front of them to offset some of the losses they have faced. I have seen a few posts regarding people looking for ski time in the phx area and noticed the same result on most of them... I understand that it's not up to the people who have invested interest in the properties to accommodate those that don't have the same investment, for me it's just the common interest in the sport that would present opportunity to skiers. I completely understand the technicalities and legalities of it all and that it just doesn't work. I'm just a canadian that is a die hard that wants to ski whenever, wherever, however. Firebird it is! Nothing like glass saltwater and the smell of nitro in the morning lmao, I grew up skiing on blue/green algae filled lakes that you had to carve the mold of the buoys practically to see them so, I will take what I can get!!!
  15. Geez I wish I could make it work that easy! Been trying to fix the same thing for about a year now, great stuff!
  16. That's a pretty hefty price for a couple sets..... I think I will take my chances showing up and knocking on a door or 2 with a 2/4 of Cold ones and a bit of cash in my pocket.... Lol
  17. Firebird (wild horse pass) is a guarantee if you don't mind salt water and the smell of nitro methane... Lol, Ed fisher is a great old guy who will pull you for a set for a reasonable price, I wouldn't mind trying something a bit different that's all
  18. anyone work the hookup for a couple sets for a fellow baller? Heading down on oct 9-18. Will ski at firebird if need be, would love to scratch a different lake of the bucket list. Or crystal point even? Will pay cash or beer...... Thanks
  19. It's all over but the crying up here, but planning to give my passport a workout in order to get my skiing fix in over winter
  20. Said it a 100 times.... I don't think Nate smith is human!! That sick pic right there puts that much more confirmation into my theory... Nice work @Horton‌. I ski at shalom park near Edmonton and Ken Nelson the owner of the site was able to ride in on some Practice sets of Nates prior to the California pro am, he told me it was incredible.
  21. Nice! The jump from 32 to 34 is a big difference, it and most say that 22 @34mph is an easier pass then 15 @34mph‌, I'm not entirely sure how much truth there is to that...
  22. Planning on hitting up the wilson bros school this winter, met KC at Matt Rinis in April of 2013, then in august of this year in Calgary bumped Into him, remembered our previous meeting, had a good bs session, later that afternoon had a chance to meet @brooks he promptly hit it off with my 8 year old daughter, by the end of the @Mastercraft‌shootout, brooks tracked me and my little girl down and presented her with his jersey from the event! Made her summer to say the least, she can't stop talking about brooks and KC, hats off to the boys a couple of real classy guys!
  23. Turned out to be an absolute sick competition, 16 of the 23 men ran 39.5 in the prelims, and 2 @41 got you to the semis, of course Nate ran 41 both days, they had to be 3 or better @ 41 to make the shootout. World class skiing all around and great weather.
  24. I will be there Tuesday to watch practice then Wednesday/Thursday, I could watch skiing for days!
  25. Have the same issues here with PWC's, tubers, and fishermen. My course was CUT 3 times last year!
