My mother n laws neighborhood changed their bi-laws after a few years. At first there was just a speed limit on the lake, however now they went to an extreme to limiting HP to 75HP or less. They have special rules stating pontoons can be up to 24'. The 2 other private lake neighborhoods have size limitations of 21' for boats but also 24' for pontoons and specifically banned any weight/wake enhancing device in the boat.

@A_B , that works also. I have a carb and figure just bumping the starter isn't building up pressure since I just want the pistons to move a little. Not nearly enough to start.

@Ajskier , I was talking about spark plugs there and spray the fogging oil into the cylinder. Correct after you run the RV antifreeze through leave the drain plugs for engine in, this will help preserve the engine from corrosion and sitting dry. I guess I should mention the first run in the spring, burning the fogging oil out it will stink! lol

I follow your steps with the following changes. What ever gas I have in the tank I put in fuel stabilizer (Marvel Mystery oil) and make sure I run the boat a good 10-15 min to get the treated gas through the system. Change Trans fluid after oil and trans change I take it out for a spin and check oil and trans levels pull drain plugs to engine and drain water, reinstall use 5 gallon bucket method, however I use 6-7 gallons of RV antifreeze and use it all. Usually I can see the antifreeze exit the exhaust before but I run it all through anyway. remove plugs and fog each cylinder, reinstall plugs and after I have done all cylinders I will bump the starter a couple times to get the fogging oil spread. pull batteries and connect to tender.

ok, can you guys go into some more detail about why I should hold the handle the other way? I find this interesting since I hold my handle like I do a baseball bat.

To use video for coaching does it make a difference where the camera is located? Does it need to be from the boat or can you pick apart someones form from a ski tip POV or 3rd person POV?

I have a roll bar mount we used to record barefooting, haven't had a chance to play with it while skiing yet though.

Does anybody know will a camera fixed on pylon capture my turns at buoys? I don't have a wakeye yet so just curious. My sjcam4000 has 170 degree view angle.

a little winter project doesn't bother me, as I just refurbished my Comp last winter and that was a lot more work then this boat "looks" to need. Figure $2k for new vinyl, speedo and tach probably simple fixes, the PP worries me, as well as any undisclosed issues this boat might have.

Our boat growing up had them, it of course sat in the water all season, after 40 years of it being in our family before I sold it the blisters NEVER caused any issue. I don't know if they increased over time but after many many years of laying on my back and hand waxing that boat each season I know they never popped either.

I also have to consider that coming from a early 90's inboard, how bad could the wake be? I am used to a sloped nose so that doesn't bother me a bit, even after taking 4 waves over the windshield on Lake Michigan this year during the air show. lol

I mostly slalom and barefoot, but occasionally will wakeboard with my boys when the water is choppy. Hope I don't get hung from the oak tree for admitting that on here. lol

Just researching newer boats besides my 92 comp, to hopefully upgrade in the next season or 2. I know the Nautique 196 seems to be everyone's favorite. I like the RLXI, and have a lot of skiing behinde a sunsetter lxi. I want something with open bow, for when I have the family out with me. I just think as far as visually a 197 is one of the most beautiful boats I see, but looks aren't everything. lol
