  1. Silvreta release unit does work only when heel lifts. Like in OTF fall. Therefore will not protect ACL in very rare fall with flat twisting motion of the ski. I have same issue + tib fracture and looking into MOB option.
  2. @oldjeep bag or neo sleeve will protect ski from ultraviolet rays, which is the most destroying factor of direct sun light.
  3. @igkya at least it is a good reason to get it, will be also useful to travel by air ) Simple, analog one with round dial is few $
  4. Pull laces with hand luggage scales and remember what you feel and how far it stretches )) Added. For example: laces at desired force stretch up to knee. Remember it - distance to knee will be reference point to pull. Not further.
  5. And new Vector comes with label "approx 35 Lbs of force, not more" on upper laces.
  6. @Horton @skialex @BraceMaker Thank you for valuable reaction. All comments make sense. I am already on the water, although not on ski but SUP )) Found that motorboats restrictions on some lakes are not uniquely bad )) Later I will open release according to skialex guidance to see what/if went wrong. @skialex yes, HO shell needs lower settings No's comparing to my Reflex Supershell. @dillonski17 my apologies for invading your thread.
  7. @skialex - not 100% topic question in order not to multiply threads: did you ever see situation when silvreta (half season used HO shell) release unit changed release tension? I did release test in the evening and next morning after fall I broke tib and half torn knee ligaments. Release finally worked but seems too late. After leg was more or less good I did release test and it was almost impossible, too much force was needed to make it work. Release was set on 4.5 (lower line of indicator bar) What would you advise to figure out what happened, how to fix it?
  8. Senate is more tolerant to tail riding due to more surface behind the front binding. IMO.
  9. @packski 6 weeks ago I could not find Lithium. Got Graphite .
  10. What is location of front binding incerts on Omni comparing to CX? Same distance from tail or more forward? When I changed from HO CX SL to Senate I noticed that Senate front binding placement is almost 1,5 inch more forward comparing to CX. I like CX very much, but Senate works on slower speeds, whereas my CX 67 is good after 32. I am about 200. Open water almost. I gues binding placement contributes in this difference
  11. Water Ski Community needs independent opinions. Something like - http://www.worldskitest.com/en/ With all my respect to manufacturers which make really good stuff and improving year to year.
  12. @6balls did you have MOB released already? How it feels?
  13. I'm very simple - start skiing as soon as the boat is on the water and skiing as long as the boat is on the water ))
  14. Looks like these winter and summers seasons are very productive for injures. What is this? Active sun? Coincidence? Be careful colleagues, do not exceed your limits. I did that and got punishment. My better half also displaced shoulder ice skating
  15. @6balls great! please keep updated how it works. I also want to try MOB (after twisting fall) Although my dream will come true when somebody will make bindings with separate toe & heel release and you all you need just click-in'n'go, like in alpine ski bindings
  16. @mmosley899 Thanks for idea to cut those tabs to get more ankle forward flex. Once knee will allow to get to water I will start experiment with HO shell by cutting tabs in 4-5mm increments. ))
  17. Straightening back knee and simultaneously bending rear ankle more, to keep heel in contact with plate does a miracle. I did not believe it before tried.
  18. @jenksski IMO the best way to understand what fits you is to try all options - RTP, HRT, Rear boot & make a choice. I'm also a beginner - 3 years in slalom. Did try everything and do like RTP. Beginning & end of season, when water is burning cold I do like @ozski - rear boot w/o upper laces.
  19. @keithh2oskier same happened to me three weeks ago. First pass on brand new ski.... and ... bone fracture plus knee ligaments. Two weeks on crutches. Ski was turning unexpectedly good! And I was not ready for this. For next month (or two) SUP will keep me closer to water )) (CTI Brace is awesome, feels like no injury) New equipment always needs some respect.
  20. @mmosley899 Is it possible to mount on MOB open toe boot (HO xMax) with tight non-stretchy upper laces? So two people with different Front Foot cau use it? xMax looks pretty stiff... and close-toe boots are side-specific...

    XT

I "hope to hope" that it means better connection between sidewall and topsheet.
  22. @TallSkinnyGuy I have exactly same story. Buy several headbands - I keep on loosing them on the start and falls )) Or think about leash...
  23. @Texas6 thanks, I like your solution. In addition it will add some flotation/visibility to handle: my rope/handle are entirely black and hardly visible when sun goes down ...
  24. @dave2ball Theoretically I can imagine situation when that "Spider net" can catch skiers arm.
