  1. Has anyone tried this fin on a big-guy 71" Senate Lithium?
  2. I think that guy trying to do the jump would have made it if he had continued to hang onto the rope. But man, that must have hurt.
  3. Position, position, position. If I do it right I can fly, but if I do it wrong I fight, tire easily and ski poorly. And losing weight does nothing but good things for water skiing.
  4. @brooks Got it. That makes sense. Thanks! When I get down a few more lbs I'll drop by Radar Lake right away!!
  5. @brooks I'm not 2% of the slalom expert you are, but you'd recommend a 67" ski over a 69" for a 210 lbs skier? When would you recommend the 69"? I'm currently at 240lbs, moving that number downward, skiing on a now-discontinued 71" Senate Lithium. I figured my ski was good down to around 200 lbs. Am I crazy? By the way - the reward for reaching that goal weight will be a new ski.
  6. OK. I went away and did some research and confirmed that this does happen. The satellites do have to be moved by the USAF and they monitor them constantly. To move it they take is offline, shift the orbit, calibrate it again, and then turn it back on. The new positional data is then sent out to everyone. Very fascinating and fun to learn more about.
  7. Wow did this go down a rabbit hole... I'm curious about the concept of "GPS Drift" that @lazzn mentioned. What is this, technically?
  8. The triple panda!!! So happy I got to see one in the wild.
  9. Oh man, oh man, oh man.... want, want, want....
  10. Is the 69.5” size new for 2019?
  11. Wow. What a machine. That is beautiful. Congrats!
  12. I've used them for years with no issues that I believe have been caused by the gloves. Had an elbow issue that moving to a slightly larger diameter handle has cleared right up.
  13. Agreed on the easy up. Roll that throttle forward every so slowly.
  14. Man, that is a good-looking ski.
  15. I'm going to say that technique is more likely the culprit than a "bad set of combos" for learning to get up. I'm trying to shrink but currently right at your weight skiing on a 71" Radar Senate with dual boots - and it's pretty easy to get up. That said, technique is a HUGE part of that last sentence. Knees to your chest and arms straight, then let the boat do the work. If you are dragging through the water your knees are not bent enough. Also - in that photo I see no gloves. Are you trying to bare-fist it? If so I cannot emphasize enough the improvement in grip you will get with a good pair of gloves. If you are serious get a set of "clincher-style" gloves. They take a ton of load off your hands and can really help you ski longer with less effort.
  16. I think at one point Costco sold Brendella boats.
  17. I remember all the Jobe ads talking about that "Spectra" material. I bet this ski wasn't $400 back in 1990...
  18. Why so fast? Give 34 MPH a try sometime. It would be very good for you to try a couple of skis and see what suits you best, but I think you are looking in the right direction.
  19. @eddie_roberts_jr fixed me up. It was great to meet in person and talk skiing for a while. The time flew by.
