  1. Installed my system in under 3 hours, including the beer breaks. Order it direct from Perfect Pass and you'll get great customer service and all the help and support you could possibly need. As it's been mentioned the hardest part is routing the wires into the engine compartment. Aside from that it's plug and play.
  2. Well done! So much good information in this video. The side by side of Fred and Nate was a great visual.

    2006 Prostar 197

The 197’s have got to be one of the best looking boats ever made. I’ve had the opportunity to ski behind one that belongs to a good friend. Wake was great, and the build quality really stands out. I would love to own one of these.
  4. Agree with everything above. Looks like speed into and thru the turn is too slow. Which could be causing you to fall to the rear of the ski as you are essentially sinking, and that causes you to rush back to the handle with your free hand to pull yourself back on top of the ski before you can complete the turn and accelerate back to the wakes. The picture of your cut shows how deep your ski is in the water exiting the turn (sinking), while your stance is not too bad, the handle needs to much lower with straight arms down by your hip all the way thru the wakes. Doing so will create more speed into the wakes and into the next turn. That speed will give you the stability you need to stand correctly on the ski and complete the turn without feeling like your going to fall over.
  5. Thanks @Mick04 I’m leaning towards The OJ. Seems like everybody who’s had one has been satisfied.
  6. @Mick04 do you remember how much your RPM's increased at 34mph? was that boat a 1:1 transmission or was it a powerslot?
  7. Is anybody using these props with a 1:1 transmission and an older carbed boat? I'm wondering if the OJ is worth the extra money? I know these are the recommended props from each manufacturer as I've spoken to them already. The OJ really doesn't have a lot of info available and the acme is either the best thing since sliced bread or is commented as being over hyped with thin blades. With both manufacturers being the top choices, I imagine they are both quality products and the negative comments are unfounded. Can anybody offer some more insight? Thanks,
  8. I think you have to determine what is causing the injuries. For instance if the very act of skiiing is causing the issue, or if pushing your limits is causing the injuries. If I continually injured myself attempting PB’s I would stop trying to run those passes and just ski an easier line length over and over again. Skiing with your friends on a sunny day, course or not is still a lot of fun.
  9. @MarcusBrown The flow point videos are all very well done. It's super cool that you bring content like this to skiers everywhere.
  10. Previously on double boots which i did like and skied well with. i've been using vapor front, Hrt rear for 2 seasons. immediately felt comfortable with adequate support. having said that the HRT offers much more forward flex and as a result i felt like a suddenly had much more freedom of movement on top of the ski. i do think using a hrt or rtp you stand on the ski differently than in double boots. for me it feels better using the HRT, most notable wake to ball getting tall or "straight" legs is much easier.
  11. I have an xcel Axis 5/4. This is a no frills entry level wetsuit. I think its the cheapest one they offer. It's super warm, as in too warm. i've never been cold in it, even in 33 degree water. But you are sweating in it by the time the water is in tge 40's. 5mm is a lot of rubber, but the suit is super soft and flexible, and i do not feel restricted in it. I also woudn't think twice about throwing it on the floor, dragging it across the pavement, it's not a fragile neoprene. I'd buy it again but in a 4/3mm. 5/4 is just overkill.
  12. No soap, run bottom laces pretty much as tight as I can get them and bungees just snug but not loose. Never had a problem releasing in a crash.
  13. @AdamCord you are right, I moved vapor boot to 29.5" 6.82, 2.50, .75 and 8 degrees on a standard wing. I felt pretty good today. Well more like really good. I'm gonna take a few rides before doing any more tuning.

    Bimini height

    This one is 36" high.
  15. I'm finding the ski wants to arc in early on my onside and it tends to be on a narrower path than what I expect. Is that a sign of front boot too far forward? I'm running vapor front and HRT rear. front binding is at 29.75". measured from the stitching on the back of the vapor boot.
  16. Anybody been riding a 66” with CG fin? What settings are working for you guys? I’m a 34mph 28off skier LFF.
  17. If you use 3m 5200 and have to remove the item after it has set, use a heat gun to heat the metal part and the 5200 will soften again.
  18. For skiers of that level if they can finish the turn, get stacked and just “Hold” that position and direction they will get around all 6. I try not to use the term “pull” or “lean”. doing so usually results in them pulling or leaning back to the rear of the ski, working hard and not moving across course in a meaningful manner. Once they have stack and direction, then they can work on speed.
  19. Yup hard to imagine why passenger planes are still flying anywhere. Seems like if you want people to stay home and avoid crowds and close contact. Maybe removing modes of transportation where hundreds of people sit in a confined space would make a lot of sense.
  20. pack it full of sand before trying to bend. When bending, bend slowly, you may have to reposition many times in order to teas it straight again. Best if you have a "tubing die" that fits the diameter.
  21. Some really good info here. I have a lot of things to work on once isolation ends and ski season begins. I think it's really cool to have very accomplished athletes like this to learn from.
  22. I would recommend Stella Blue lake. Rick is very accommodating and the lake skis great.
  23. The public lakes around here both have courses on them and both get used regularly. The course owners maintain them remarkably well. Courses are generally enjoying decent water early mornings and offer great skiiing spring and fall months. July and august you gotta be pretty early to beat the surfers out.
  24. Marcus Brown does a great job with the flow point videos. Presenting waterskiing to his viewers in a way that shows outsiders what lake life is like. There’s so much about the “experience” that is hard to convey to somebody who has never experienced it. I think for many of us it’s more than just the skiiing. It’s the people, the lake, the memories, the sights, the sounds, the moment it all comes together on the water. Maybe it’s a new PB, maybe it’s watching your kids get up for the first time, or maybe it’s the exercise. Maybe it’s different for all of us, but there’s something special about it that keeps us all coming back. Maybe we should be telling those who are unfamiliar with the sport that they can experience all of that too.
  25. I’ve been trying to ski “taller” and more connected my last several sets. I think it was twhisper In another thread who made a comment about pushing into the first wake. This seemed to make the transition happen more easily as the ski kinda shoots forward and out in front off the second wake. Noticed it also makes the ski release pointing more in a down course direction which fits with the ideas here. Managing load to be able to hold your position/lean into and through the wakes was also something that I had to adjust for myself. I had a tendency to take way too much and get pulled forward at CL.
