  1. February maybe a little early. Was planning on starting up in March. Just got to get the air temp up so my boat won't freeze up while afterwards.
  2. Skiing in canada well into November is cold. Last I checked air and water temp were both reading COLD. I find it's most tolerable to opt out of the dry suit which tends to restrict circulation causing hands and feet extreme discomfort. Best to go with the wet suit and neo vest. And get skiing as soon as possible. Dry clothes are a must soon as your done.
  3. If your looking at best value dollar for dollar graded by performance, I think you need to be looking at the early 90's models, a number of manufacturers created some pretty good hulls that will still compete with today's boats. The cost for ine of these is super cheap compared the 80k for a new MC
  4. I may be out to lunch here but a suggestion would be to take a look at your exhaust pipes. If there is a clogg in there somewhere (muffler, pipe, CAT) it could be building up pressure causing your lack of power, as it can not breathe properly. I recently had a truck with a plugged CAT. Same symptoms. idle fine, accelerate fine initially, then hits a wall and no power.
  5. If I had 80k, and I don't, but if I did I would not spend it on one single boat. Don't care how nice it is.
  6. Saudi will only be willing to lose money for so long. Iran, Venezuela and others wl begin pressuring for reduced production and inflated prices. Next OPEC meeting will be the tell.
  7. Just mounted o'brien sectors on an HO ski. Bolt up no problem as long as they have the aluminum mounting plate. I know the O'Brien Force bindings have a plastic base and it will not work on the rear.
  8. Snow leopard on MacBook iOS 8.o on phone. No issues on either
  9. For what it's worth. I'm basically a beginner myself. Just getting back In The course after 5 years away. I can run -15 34mph with out any troubles. But my technique is still horrible. When I went to 22 off I suddenly had slack line and could barely get 2 balls. I had a friend take a few videos. Went home studied BOS until my eyes bled and figured out I was not getting wide enough for the gates, I was pulling way too long (past 2nd wake even), and my body position was wrong at every point. Went back out and worked on the those 3 things. First was to develop my stack. A few sets later, body position is much better, which created more angle and speed into the wakes. The edge change is happening sooner and effortlessly, and we're carrying more speed into the next ball with a tight rope. Now I'm skiing -22 successfully. I am not aware of doing any of the above mentioned "moves" to edge change. For me it feels like it just happens, especially when I've done everything else correctly.

    Boat values

I agree, older boats can be had for a fraction of the cost and can adequately fill the needs of most. A few upgrades and most of those boats will provide quality pulls for years to come. I run an '89 centurion falcon, it's still one of my fave boats to ski and drive.
  11. When "common sense" gets tossed over board......it generally does not impress me.
  12. Sounds like a vacuum leak or maybe a bad sensor (MAP, TPS, or MAF). Maybe low fuel pressure or faulty injector. Bad gas could possibly cause this as well. I would start by double checking the timing. Then checking for vaccum leaks. Can check the sensors with a multimeter and google search for the parameters. Check fuel pressure to make sure it's where it's suppose to be. If all checks out it should be running.
  13. @smalor good ski this mornin. Wish I we'd started in the spring.
