  1. Omni Syndicate or Radar Senate are good options to look at - they will ski differently than one another - but both worth checking out if you can!
  2. That's a good price for a GREAT and cool ski! Congrats to whoever snagged it!
  3. The Omni is a killer ski for free skiing
  4. @Nando from my experience - it releases the same as any soft shell (i.e. Radar Profile/ Strada) - no issues with ever not coming out as intended and I have gone OTF in almost every way you can imagine
  5. @SlalomSteve - I have been playing around with boots for the last few years and recently found one I REALLY like - it is a mix of a hard shell with a soft boot style release (Fluid Motions Rebel Z). The hard shell is fixed to the plate (shell does not release off plate) but has a marine bungee lace that flexes and the liner comes out at release. What I notice: A hard shell (and I have tried both styles of a reflex type release as well as the fluid motion) is amazing in terms of instant response from your foot into the ski. When you roll, the ski rolls with little to no delay. It makes your knee, ankle, and foot feel as though they are part of the ski (this takes a bit to get used to - but forces good front foot pressure and calls out some stance weaknesses almost right away). Soft shell boots and rubber wraps allow for more independence between the knee, ankle and foot. This allows for more flexibility in terms of position on the ski - however also allows for more loss of energy transfer into the ski (example being you move your knee, ankle, foot - that moves inside the soft shell - then transfers to the ski.
  6. Interesting - I think it is cool there is a new 3 event boat company trying to come in!
  7. I am impressed with the quality and durability of Masterline - however as someone who likes to mix gear up a lot - I am very interested in In-Tow at the moment - might be my choice for next year.
  8. @Simpson - I was just going to say the same and I am very intrigued/pleased that someone else is trying this approach. I did not go as far as starting with my hardest (however I will be trying that now)! But I find if your goal is to be a skier who is running into 35 off at your tournament speed (and you feel you do indeed know how to complete a good pass) then you should spend more time closer to that goal and back into the "easier speeds/passes" as it enables your mind more time to think in course/practice because it all feels slower when you do drop back down. When I made my speed jump - I went from 32mph to 36mph (skipping 34mph). I had a lot of people tell me that was wrong, however it pushed me through a major breakthrough much faster than those around me. I spent a lot of time crashing around 4 ball or getting off rhythm and frustrated in the beginning. However, almost all at once, when I made my first 22' off at 36mph, I immediately ran into mid 32'off at 34 MPH with the best form I have ever had (all in one season). 34 felt so slow to me that I was able to implement what I was working on right away. I then took the confidence from my 34mph passes back into 36mph and yet again - another breakthrough. For me, if I stayed trying to work down the line in a more traditional fashion, I likely do not think I would have progressed into where I want to be this fast. All of this however came after me gaining a solid understanding of the course. 3 years skiing at slower speeds (30/32mph) learning more proper technique. I am very interested in what others are doing or did to get to the 35' off at tournament speed mark - great thread!
  9. Agree on all the above (I would play around with ski set up). I made changes to my gate and ski settings this year and it solved similar issues for me just the same. Start with those two areas and I bet you see a big difference! Awesome how video can help us like this!
  10. Great input! Much appreciated. I have been tracking the following: date skied, wind conditions, air temp, water temp, number of sets taken, best pass bouy count, a highlight/lowlight, and notes on the day (any ski changes, outside factors, etc) - I also have been tracking my off water workouts to see if I can correlate any comparisons. I want to start skiing tournaments next season and am hoping this will really help me. Looking for the next breakthrough down the rope!!!
  11. Hey Ballers, Just curious - for those who train and track progress, how do you do it? I recently have been using a basic excel sheet to track what I am working on and wondering if anyone does similar? If so, what do you track?
  12. I think if I remember it is just the sinker - so $2500 gets you a sinker kit with course (just the sinker version)
  13. @mylemsky It was oven - water mold at 250 would be cool... one hot hot tub!!! :)
  14. Our New 2019 PS!!! Pop's dream boat (mine too!) :)
  15. These are great - I always say "I'll follow you" but I like "let's party"
  16. Update - i just tried to heat mold and it stretched A LOT - works well now - sorry @Buxrus - FYI for anyone who gets these - heat mold at 250 for 10 mins, then stretch, then in the boot for another 10 is perfect - first hard shell for me!!!
  17. @Buxrus - I would be interested in that! Do you have the Fluid Motion Pro liner? What color cuff?
  18. Ballers, I was SOOO stoked to get my new Fluid Motion hard shell yesterday - but have an issue with the liner. I ordered the size 3 liner which is supposed to be their large (10.5-12) - but the liner is SO short from heel to toe. My toes are crammed at the front. I am nervous that if I heat mold the liner and it does not stretch enough that I will be stuck with it. How much do these stretch front to back?
  19. I would steer clear of that 18 Malibu - a lot of issues all around from the folks I know who own the new responses (trailer, engine, gel coat, cap construction alignment, etc). I have skied the new MC at a variety of speeds and lengths and have seen my dad and girlfriend rip behind the new MC at 28, 30, and 32 MPH (15' off) and see darn near the same wakes I see at 34/36 MPH 28' 32' and 35' - the new MC hull shape is amazing across the board and the pull is as solid as that of any 200. One major advantage I see in the MC is the space inside the boat. Which really does make a difference when you don't have a dock to stop at after every skier.
  20. @lakeside7455 While I do not agree with the 100K price tag, I must say there is a BIG difference between the new MC wake, pull, and overall ski experience (room inside the boat) then that of a previous generation ski boat. Our group we ski with has boats from all eras just about and I am lucky enough to be able to ski behind a new MC next summer. The wakes behind our 2000 prostar (as well as the performance and construction of that boat were AMAZING) - but with that said, still no comparison to that of its 20 year newer self. Bottom line, folks who have the bug and want to get the right boat for them, will shell out what they feel is the right deal based on what they find. I think it was said earlier in this thread, market is what market is and (if boats are selling), folks will list at what they think they can get.
